Listen to Adrian Rogers. Love Worth Finding.
When the Russian Communists began persecuting the church in the 1920's, church attendance dropped 95%. The average church went from 300 to 15. This is when you find out who the real Christians are.
GOOD FOR YOU!
I also stood up in the middle of motivational speech...oops, I mean sermon. The teaching was so anti biblical that I stood up, turned my back to the pulpit. With my back turned, I slowly gathered my papers & pen into my Bible cover, put my reading glasses into the case, picked up my phone and shook my head, then walked out, to never return. I have never done this bold act before. I DID lose what I thought were friends for this action and for going elswhere, however, the refining fire of this action revealed the true dross in these relationships.
The next week I was at my resent to me new church, where the men’s group studies verse-by-verse a book of the Bible on Wednesday nights, another study group early on Sunday we study a different book of the Bible verse-by-verse and then a worship service studying another book. Non-denominational.
The fellowship at this new church is incredible and I am welcomed and “home”. They also recently receivedemy as a new member. Nearly brought tears. Marraige is one man and one woman. Matthew 18 church discipline must be agreed to by every member.
SO refreshing!
I pray that you find a church home which honors God, builds real and genuine fellowship, the Word is clearly and plainly taught and where you develop lifelong, loving relationships.

May I commend SLBC.org to you? It is the church pasteroed by Andy Woods. I attend online. The media archives are a very rich source of Biblical teaching. You miss what your soul is craving. Feed it from the Word. Andy is an excellent source for doing that.
Its a woke church and woke pastor.
Almost without exception, though admittedly to varying degrees, these “churches” are completely centered around their skinny jeans pastor, who rather than exhibiting Godly humility instead seeks attention by acting “radical” and constantly focusing his “message” on his own stories and musings rather than on the Bible. The most charismatic of these also barely even mention scripture, instead seeking mystical experiences and direct revelation via those experiences. This type of “church” is clearly condemned in scripture multiple times, most famously as the types of people who seek false teachers to tell them what their “itching ears” wish to hear. We are supposed to rely upon the truth as already revealed in the written word, not upon unknown and possibly dangerous spirits whispering into our ears as we writhe in false ecstasy during some hyper-emotional experience. The very reason God directs us toward the written word is that, similar to our constitution, it is not subject to the whims of individuals, but instead provides a single immovable rock that can be depended upon to provide truth and wisdom, and especially to provide the one and only true Gospel. When instead everyone chases either imaginary or demon-delivered alternate “personal revelation”, then chaos reigns and there is no way, absent application of solid Biblical discernment which these “churches” absolutely detest, to determine the truth.
A true pastor is there to do one thing: Preach the Gospel by exegeting what is plainly written in the Bible. That’s it. He’s not there to entertain or to go on and on about his own opinions. These so-called “skinny jean” pastors act like they think God’s written word has no power unless they give it some kind of help by acting like an entertainer. And in many cases this misguided behavior is not by accident, but is instead a deliberate attempt to make the congregation dependent upon their celebrity pastor and his off-base opinions instead of upon the unchanging word of God. The reason so many of these “churches” barely touch the Bible except to occasionally twist a verse or two is that they know that the written word handcuffs them and prohibits their emotion and narcissism-driven desire for mystical experiences and to be personally important, believes themselves in many cases to be modern-day prophets or apostles.
If you ever read prophecy and wondered what the coming apostate church would look like, well it’s here and this is how it looks.
Most prominent example of this is Andy Stanley.
“The woman head of council”
Is her name Jezebel? Or maybe Delilah.
It breaks my heart to hear your report.
I hope the other “men” are ashamed of themselves.
Thanks! I did find it and have a sermon ready to go for just before bed. I usually put on a sermon and listen for awhile, as it takes me about the right amount of time to fall asleep.
Agree!
Entertaining experiental motivational speeches with a bit of inappropriate humor and finally little bit of jesus thrown in...(small j in “Jesus”, because they try to diminish Him)
May I suggest a search and understanding about ARC...”Association of related churches”? A church to avoid! They have a searchable map of their member churches. Not all are shown, because after paying off the huge debt to ARC, some have left but still not abandoned the false gospel. They look the same as you described. Skinny Jean flood pants, hip hop tunes, jeans with holes in the knees. “Pastor” with the groovy hair style, leather jacket.
Perfectly describes what you posted!

Pastor Andy has the most informative and inspiring Sunday School lessons I have ever heard and I’m 77 and was born again in 1972, so I have heard a lot and taught a few. His series on The Rapture is long but the most thorough I have come across. The
‘media’ link will take you to the different sermon series listings. ... See you in the clouds
That ‘Andy’ is Pastor Andy Woods, not andy stanley.
Thanks, MHGinTN! I am just starting to listen to some teaching on Acts.
I will listen to more, for sure. So far, I like him.
Your affirmation wells up joy in my heart!
Lol well that’s good.
I like him. He has a very nice, even, and thoughtful way of speaking.....and he doesn’t yell at me! It makes me just a tad annoyed when they up and start yelling at me, thinking they’re making a point, but really just sounding a little over the top.
So, I’m on to the next one - Genesis 102 Unconditional Promises.
Starting the new year right, with Pastor Andy Woods! Good sermon this morning.....thanks again for your recommendation!
To God be all the glory and honor. see you in the clouds
