It has always astounded me how slow the disciples were to finally understand that salvation has come (a) through Jesus' death and resurrection and (b) even to the Gentiles [double forehead smack].

Their dullness shows how perfectly they represent the common man: Jesus didn't choose twelve Pharisees but instead ignorant fishermen and unholy publicans--and me.

LOL--perhaps the Sanhedrin were just jealous they didn't get picked for the team. "Put me in, Coach!"
