(LifeSiteNews) – Cardinal Gerhard Müller said in a recent interview that a pope loses his office if he becomes a heretic and “if the contradiction to the revelation and the dogmatic teaching of the Church is evident.”
Müller made the remarks about a pope possibly losing his office while answering a question about papal infallibility in an interview published on the German Catholic news site kath.net.
“Dogmatic declarations may have the quality of infallibility if their content derives from Sacred Scripture and the Apostolic Tradition of the Word of God, and if they are formally presented to be believed by the proper authority of the Magisterium of the Pope and the Bishops, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, as a truth revealed by God,” the German cardinal explained.

“If” he became a heretic?
Uh, calling Captain Obvious, calling Captain Obvious.
ditto that
Shouldn’t that be if continues to be a heretic?
Well get on it! The Pope IS already a heretic
Bergolio has been a heretic for years - one of the first things that was noticed about him is that he doesn’t genuflect to the Blessed Sacrament. The list of heresies that he has participated in is long and egregious (pachamama for starters). How anyone could think he is a Christian, much less a Catholic is crazy. He is definitely not the Pope. He is certainly not the Holy Father. More like a sadistic evil uncle.
We need the Ted Baxter “Well, We’re waiting!” Meme.

I am not too familiar with the Vatican power structure, but who can declare the pope a heretic within the church and have it over-rule the pope? From what I have heard Francis has appointed most of the cardinals anyway.
I think Frankie is past the point of no return. He needs to be declared a heretic and deposed from the See of Peter.
Tagline.
That a sin, and a lethally bad example, but it's not a "heresy," because it's not a teaching. Canon law defines heresy as obstinate post-baptismal denial of a truth required to be believed with divine and Catholic faith.
Amoris Laetitia is very close to heresy. His various declarations concerning the death penalty are very close to heresy also. There will be more examples to come, I'm sure.
There’s no formal procedure for declaring a Pope deposed because of heresy. Some doctors, IIRC St. Robert Bellarmine among them, say that a council of (most of) the world’s bishops would be required.
Pachamama is a Heresy because 1) it violates the Fisrt Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” and 2) it violates Jesus’ own words: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can come to the Father but by me.” Bergolio’s tolerance and promotion of other religions violates the essence of Christianity. It is a “denial of a truth required to be believed with divine and Catholic faith,” because it denies that Jesus is the only Way and it puts other gods before the Lord. Just because he has not written down his beliefs, he has broadcast them far and wide by his actions.
By that logic, any sin is heresy.
