Moscow, November 9, Interfax - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree approving the foundations of the state policy for preserving and consolidating traditional Russian spiritual and ethical values.

The decree is published on the Russian official legal database website.

Some actions by the United States and other unfriendly countries, transnational corporations, and non-governmental organizations pose a threat to Russia's traditional values, according to the Fundamentals of the State Policy for Preserving and Strengthening Traditional Russian Spiritual and Ethical Values endorsed by a presidential decree.

"Activities of extremist and terrorist organizations and certain mass media outlets, actions by the United States of America and other unfriendly foreign countries, a number of transnational corporations, and foreign nonprofit organizations, as well as the activities of some organizations and persons in Russia's territory pose a threat to its traditional values," the document says.

The Fundamentals "are a strategic planning document in the sphere of Russia's national security." The document specifies and elaborates on certain provisions of the Russian national security strategy, information security doctrine, a strategy of countering extremism in Russia in the period up to 2025, a strategy of Russia's national policy in the period up to 2025, and some other documents, including the presidential decree On Russia's National Development Goals in the period up to 2030.

The Fundamentals define "traditional values" as "moral benchmarks forming the mindset of Russian citizens, passed from one generation to another, and lying in the foundation of the common Russian civic identity and the country's unified cultural expanse."

Traditional values "strengthen civic unity and manifest themselves in a unique and original way in the spiritual, historical, and cultural development of Russia's multiethnic population," the document says.

This is NOT a comment about the war in Ukraine.

But I will say that when countries are letting men marry men and people mutilate their bodies to be called the other sex....when BEASTS of the opposite sex win Female Beauty Pageants, when BOYS DOMINATE GIRL’S SPORTS by saying they are a girl....

I wouldn’t want that contaminating my culture either.

Putin is not a good man.

But our culture is out of control.

OMG! Nuke him now. Forget the Ukes, this is a direct assault on everything the United States holds to be sacrosanct. This is antithetical to our world view, this is why we fight in 2022. How does the contrast between this and the specter of “shining Gomorrah on hill” America, using our power to drive our cultural hegemony play in the Arab World, Catholic South America, etc.?

Putin uses “the Gays” s as one of his boogiemen to hold onto power. Classic dictator power move.

The problem here is the messenger overshadows the message.

Trump has similar issues, but at least he doesn’t invade sovereign countries.

Putin didn’t invade the Independent Republics of Luhansk and Donetsk. He was asked in. Crimea asked him in in 2014. Revolutions cause disenfranchised voters to do interesting things.

Feb 22’s objective wasn’t about Luhansk/Donetsk or even Crimea.

It was to decapitate the leadership in Kiev and install a puppet.

That is invading a sovereign country (just like we’ve did in Iraq and Afghanistan)
