Denver Newsroom, Oct 12, 2022 / 17:13 pm Pro-life groups and disability advocates are aghast after a prominent medical body told parliament that severely ill or malformed infants should have access to euthanasia. They say it is indistinguishable from infanticide.
“The concept of euthanizing infants, also known as infanticide, is very different than killing competent adults by euthanasia,” Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the London, Ontario-based Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, told CNA Oct. 12. “Infants are unable to ask to be killed and they are unable to consent to their death.”
Dr. Louis Roy, from the Collège des médecins du Québec, or Quebec College of Physicians, on Oct. 7 addressed the House of Commons’ Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying, The National Post reports. Roy said medical assistance in dying, which includes both euthanasia and assisted suicide, can be appropriate for infants born with “severe malformations” and “grave and severe symptoms” where their “prospect of survival is null, so to speak.”
The Collège des médecins du Québec licenses medical professionals and sets other medical standards in Canada's largest province.
Inclusion Canada, an advocacy group for people with disabilities, said it was alarmed by the comments.
“Most families of children born with disabilities are told from the start that their child will, in one way or another, not have a good quality of life,” Krista Karr, the group’s executive vice president, told the National Post.
“Canada cannot begin killing babies when doctors predict there is no hope for them. Predictions are far too often based on discriminatory assumptions about life with a disability,” she said.

Gypsies are next …
How about severely ill national leaders?
Beam us up, Lord. There is no compassionate life here on this planet!
Zyklon B ?
“C’mo man “
Cannot be assisted suicide when the victim is unable to even talk yet, much less have the cognitive ability to understand what is going on.
This is nothing more than Nazi Germany murdering those it deems unfit.
It’s just out and out murder.
Looks like Dr. Mengele fled to Canada after the war and is still alive in the minds of some doctors there.
“Gypsies are next …”
Or Grandma and Grandpa
Outrageous
They’ve already done that. The ‘death rate’ from the CCP-Coronavirus in Quebec nursing homes was at least 4x the Canadian average. Not because Quebec suffered a more virulent strain but because ofvthe treatment, or lack thereof, in Quebec nursing homes.
In the late 50s and 60s, Quebecois started turning em masse away from the RC church. For centuries, the RC priests counselled the Quebecois not to get education, nor learn English, nor to leave their local communities, and not to mingle with the English. Instead, they were told to stay home on their farms, don’t get an education, attend the RC church, and tithe no matter how little you had, to build glorious cathedrals. The RC church did little to nothing to improve their lot in life.
After the few WW2 Quebecois vets came home and radio and TV opened the eyes of Quebecois to the world, attitudes changed. Many turned against the RC church, blaming the church for their problems, keeping them poor and ignorant. Since there were few other churches, especially in rural areas, many turned from God. Quebec is, by far, the most secular Province in Canaduh.
Unfortunately, once one denies God, human life loses its value, especially since Quebec leans toward socialism, a result of principly Jesuit teaching for centuries. Socialism CLAIMS to value human life, but reality is, it is about the ‘collective’. Not a surprise that the doctors choose to recommend the murder of disabled young (and old). Persuch socialists, alll are ‘useless eaters’, the young being unable to grow and assist the ‘collective’. Ain’t socialism grand? (BTW, that is sarcasm, in case the reader, whomever he/she/it may be, does not realize.)
