Washington, D.C. Newsroom, Oct 5, 2022 / 21:30 pm Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, arrested a man Wednesday after he allegedly attacked a desk attendant with a sword and started a fire at Holy Family Cathedral.
Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin tweeted the following statement at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday:
“TPD officers responded to a downtown church building at approximately 4 p.m. after a man attacked an employee of the building with a sword, lit incendiary devices, and attempted to set the building ablaze. There were children at the location, all of which were unharmed. We apprehended the man a short time later at 71st & Sheridan after he caused a disturbance in a store by threatening to detonate a device. This is still an active investigation that involves TPD, our Bomb Squad, Tulsa Fire Marshals, and federal authorities. We are working with our federal partners on charges and will share more information as information becomes available.”
The rector of the cathedral, Father Gary Kastl, identified the desk attendant as Ron Notzon, Tulsa television station KTUL reported. Kastl said Notzon confronted the suspect and received lacerations on his hands.
Kastl related that a man carrying an ice chest approached the front of the cathedral and attempted to enter. After realizing the doors were locked, he proceeded down the alley between the school and the cathedral, according to Kastl.
“During this time, students were on the front steps of the Cathedral taking school pictures. We express our gratitude and appreciation for the faculty and staff who reacted quickly and immediately moved the students inside the school. The whole school was immediately placed on lockdown and remained so until cleared by local law enforcement,” Kastl wrote in a letter about the incident.

Tulsa? Good grief.
To be fair, who hasn’t done that at least once?...
You know, your on day 5 of a meth and peyote bender, you hit Tulsa, and then Bam...it dawns on you.
Oklahoma, the perp is lucky someone didn’t shoot him.
It looks like in this instance, the subject was arrested, but NOT RELEASED w/o bail as in many other deluded cities and townships.
Interesting that the name and ethnicity of the perp was not mentioned. Must have been Amish.
We have two traditional FSSP Catholic churches in Phoenix, that are staffed by 2-4 porters at all Masses both inside and outside.
We are near a homeless encampment downtown, so we get an occasional fellow who is “off”. We are also around the corner from the Capitol, so we are extra alert when the crazies come out to protest there.
Our model has been implemented diocese-wide in Phoenix, and the people appreciate it.
Wrong. According to the Tulsa PD Facebook page, his name is Daniel Edwards:

"When Officers arrived, Edwards had already fled the scene. Officers quickly reviewed surveillance video and began a citywide search for the suspect. Just about an hour later, Officers responded to a bomb threat at a grocery store at 71st and Sheridan. Daniel Edwards made a threat at the store saying he had something worse than a bomb, and he was also carrying a bible. Officers quickly arrived and confronted the suspect near the registers at the store. Several commands were given by officers and the suspect failed to comply with any of them. An Officer utilized his Taser to gain control over the suspect so he could be taken into custody. Officers confirmed Edwards was the same man from the downtown church incident. His vehicle was in the parking lot, and Officers recovered a sword in the backseat. This was a cooperative effort by our field Officers and our federal law enforcement partners. Edwards is currently in the Tulsa County Jail on a FBI hold. He will likely face charges for Assault with a Deadly weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm, Possession of an Unregistered Destructive Device, and potentially other charges as well."

..... The video showed Edwards bringing a red and white cooler into a breezeway on the side of the church. The church employee made initial contact with the Edwards who then allegedly pulled a sword from inside his clothing and began attacking the employee the weapon. The victim fled back into the church.
Or a follower of that self-declared prophet, old Mo.
