Synod Art Depicts Woman in Priestly Vestments, Person in ‘PRIDE’ T-Shirt

CV NEWS FEED // As a select group of Church representatives gather in Frascati, Italy this week, the Catholic Church’s “Synod on Synodality” enters its “continental phase.”

Designated “experts” from five continents will meet until October 1 near Rome to review pages of summaries from the 2021- 2022 regional episcopal synods and produce from them one global synthesis document.

Included in the items for review are pieces of artwork, which are highlighted on the Synod’s official social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.

One image, published on the official Synod Facebook page, includes a depiction of a woman dressed in priestly vestments. Next to her is a person wearing a rainbow “PRIDE” T-Shirt.

The origins and purpose of the artwork are unknown. J.D. Flynn of the Pillar reported: “I’m not actually sure whether it’s fan art, or included in a national synthesis document, or has instead been sketched out while these folks are at work on the next stage.”

The art in question is in a graphic-novel style and includes English words, images, and symbols as well as the official watermark seal of the Vatican Synod.

Ok this is ridiculous. Pride is a sin, and its month is over but they just couldn’t go away on July 1.

What’s next, leather fetish month? Rubber fetish month?

Just leave us alone.

I’m glad to see that someone is finally celebrating groups of lions. It’s about time they had their day.

Is it any worse than the demonic hellscape sculpture behind the Pope's throne?

From the artist: "Christ rises from this crater torn open by a nuclear bomb; an atrocious explosion, a vortex of violence and energy.” - Fazzini

The catholic church is done.

Never.

And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. -- Matthew 16:18

The heretics ignore the question about which of the thirteen (twelve plus Judas's replacement) apostles were women.

These heretics dare to defy the selections made by Christ Himself.

Paul was also an apostle appointed by Jesus. So that makes fourteen.

Is that sculpture for real?? It’s hideous. Our Lord never had a snake head.

Paul was also an apostle appointed by Jesus. So that makes fourteen.

My understanding is that Matthius replaced Judas making twelve again and that Paul converted to Christianity after Christ ascended into Heaven. While Paul was an apostle, he was not one of the original ones. Paul himself refers to the original twelve in his First Epistle to Corinthians.

Paul was also not one of the original 70/72 apostles/disciples appointed by Christ.

The larger point being that the heretics in the Church fail to answer the question as to which apostles were women.

I might add though, that it has been there longer than Francis has been the Pope. The snake head you are seeing, is really the hair of Christ. I too thought it was an animal's head, but a lizard, not a snake. 🙂

What is that frightening sculpture behind the pope?
