'Every faith-based university in the country has the right to work with its students, including its LGBTQ students, to establish the clubs, places and spaces that fit within its faith tradition.'
NEW YORK (LifeSiteNews) – A Jewish university in New York is temporarily suspending all undergraduate student club activities pending final resolution of a dispute over whether it will be forced to recognize an LGBT student group, just days after the U.S. Supreme Court refused to block a lower-court ruling ordering it to recognize the club.
Yeshiva University declares on its website that “our five core Torah values comprise our moral compass and guide us toward a better future,” and that the school is “[r]ooted in Jewish thought and tradition,” with one of its “foundations” being “the importance of enriching and enhancing Jewish life and growth both on our campuses and in the Jewish community at large.”
Accordingly, in 2020, it rejected the establishment of YU Pride Alliance as a recognized on-campus group, explaining that the “message of Torah on this issue is nuanced, both accepting each individual with love and affirming its timeless prescriptions. While students will of course socialize in gatherings they see fit, forming a new club as requested under the auspices of YU will cloud this nuanced message.”
Instead, the school announced a series of measures meant to address legitimate concerns of homosexual or gender-confused students without “clouding” the faith’s moral teachings, such as updating its sensitivity training, hiring a counselor with experience in LGBT issues, and creating a phone line to report harassment and bullying.

Good for them.
YU will eventually cave, although it’s a nice strategy in that it has forced the LGBT club to temporarily withdraw its request for recognition.
YU grad schools recognize such clubs, and YU doesn’t object to LGBT students enrolling. YU is ‘Modern Orthodox’ with ‘modern’ meaning liberal and ‘non-judgmental’. They’ll cave.
Dahaha, karma’s a bitch...
Agreed. But I’ll wager that they lose in the end.And assuming I’m correct that will eventually lead to,among other things,Catholic hospitals being required to perform abortions,”gender affirming” surgery, etc.
Just keep all clubs out permanently. Too many up to no good one way or another.
So the Supreme Court's ruling penalizes all the normal clubs instead of upholding the right to maintain the religious values of a private religious school.
about time the left when after someone that wasn’t Christian!
From what I’ve read the Supreme Ct. didn’t actually rule in favor of the LGBT club. The University lawyers tried an emergency petition to the Court. The Court decided not to accept the emergency petition because the University hadn’t exhausted appeals at the lower court levels. The Court can still hear the case later on.
If I was gay, the last school I would go to is a faith based one
But if you’re gay and want to destroy Western Civilization then you go to a faith-based school to infiltrate and destroy. And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing.
Gee, thanks.
Kavanaugh the POS strikes again. I feel like protesting at his house too.
“But if you’re gay and want to destroy Western Civilization then you go to a faith-based school to infiltrate and destroy. And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing.”
BINGO. You win the prize.
sorry, it has always just annoyed me that the left ignores other religions like Muslims, Jews etc when it comes to their very similar moral beliefs.
I understand the frustration.
If it makes you feel better, observant Jews are under constant attack by leftists.
Leftists oppose the existence of Israel for example. They want us to die.
Tlab, AOC, etc. make us a special target.
Domestically in the USA, NYC constantly attacks Jewish schools, culture, Covid shot refusal, you name it. They sent black clad stormtroopers in to break up synagogue services during lock downs.
Blacks, of course, constantly single out Jews when “polar bear hunting”, generally on Shabbos.
Culturally there are constant movies about how backwards we are.
Etc. Long way of saying, we’re under constant attack by leftist. We’re just a small group and generally not newworthy to anyone but ourselves.
I am truly sorry to hear that, I had no idea.
No reason anyone not Jewish should have a reason to know.
We just happen to live it.
