Revelation Ch. 9 and Romans Ch. 8
The Holy Bible (KJV) ^

"And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon."

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Revelation, Chapter 9

1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Romans, Chapter 8

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

TOPICS: General Discusssion
KEYWORDS:
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Just remember boys and girls and Saints of God.

Revelation Chapt. 6 through Chapt. 19 is the detail of Daniel’s 70th Week AKA the Seven-Year tribulation AKA the Wrath of the Lamb (Rev. 6:16-17; 11:18; 14:8,10,19; 15:1,7; 16:1,19; 18:3; 19:15).

Before all of that, we will be caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds to go with him to Heaven to ever be with the Lord (1 Thess. 4:17-18). WE are not appointed to wrath but salvation (1 Thess. 4:17-18). Jesus is our Noah’s Ark lifting us above and out of God’s wrath just like he said (Matt. 24;37).

1 & 2 Thessalonians are epistles about “the great catching up” AKA “the rapture” which will take place before the seven-year hell on earth begins. The message about the end times for God’s people is COMFORT, DO NOT FEAR (1 Thess. 2:11; 3:2,7; 4;18; 5:11,14; 2 Thess 2:17).

I am impressed by your faithfulness to post passages from the King James bible everyday. I’ve seen them, and read them, and they minister to me every time. I primarily read the King James, while also periodically reading the Geneva Bible. Those are the only two. Kudos to you milady.

I don’t know what “rapture theology” is but I do know that scripture supports everything I said as shown by some of the references I included.

Got a beef? If so, can you back it up by refuting my argument and offering your own rational argument with support? Because just empty assertions or conclusions or parroting some kind of “theology” doesn’t cut it.

There re scriptures that support a mid trib rapture. Jesus said in this life there would be trouble but not o worry on it.
Many will come to faith during the tribulation also.

I lean pre trib but will only and always be looking up no matter the circumstance.

In the Bible, there’s a difference between trials and tribulations of life that God works together for our good, and the Daniel’s 70th Week AKA the seven-year tribulation which is the very Wrath of the Lamb and Almighty God which is not at all meant for us as scripture plainly tells us.

And if you knew what’s in store for the world in the seven-year tribulation you would know why.

You never heard of Rapture Theology? It was the basis for the Left Behind series.

It's the belief that Jesus will have a Second and a Third Coming.

The Second Coming will be in secret. He will be unseen, but all good Christians will suddenly disappear (i.e. He will "rapture" them up into Heaven).

Then comes the tribulation with all its suffering. And then His Third Coming in which the world will end, with the judgment for all.

Rapture Theology is considered a heresy by Catholic, Orthodox, and mainline Protestant churches.

Rapture Theology is considered a heresy by Catholic, Orthodox, and mainline Protestant churches.

Couldn't care less what the traditional church which has in great part put Jesus to one side consider true or false. I care what God's Word says. The truth is in God's Word not in the traditions of man (Mark 7:7-13).

The Second Coming will be in secret. He will be unseen

It's actually the first part of his second coming (FOR his saints (1 Thess. 4:17)).

Behold, I come as a thief.
Revelation 16:15

If therefore you will not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shalt not know what hour I will come upon you.
Revelation 3:3

But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for you do not know what hour your Lord does come.
Matt. 24:36-42

etc., etc.

And then His Third Coming in which the world will end, with the judgment for all.

It's actually the second part of his second coming (WITH his saints).

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army and the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Revelation 19:11-16,19-21.

Chew on that a while.

Chew on that a while.

I've chewed on Revelation for many years. I've got two good Catholic study Bibles, with extensive notes. Plus a separate book on just Revelation.

Some points I've taken from these books:

Revelation is not a detailed prophecy of the End Times. It's mostly a metaphor for a daily struggle against sin.

Who is the anti-Christ? We are all anti-Christ. Every time we sin, we are anti-Christ. We are literally against Christ. Yet every day, Christ through his resurrection defeats anti-Christ.

Revelation is also as a metaphor for the Holy Mass and the Eucharist -- which IS the Lamb of God. The eating of the Lamb of God fills us with the grace needed to defeat our temptation to sin -- which is the temptation to be anti-Christ.

Of course, Revelation is also a coded message about the Roman Empire of John's time. In this sense, 666 is a code for Nero.

The Beast is also a metaphor for all material idols (political power, wealth, etc.) of every historical era. Just as the False Prophet is a metaphor for all false religions.

And no, the modern nation of Israel is not in Revelation. No specific modern world leader or nation or organization are in Revelation. Of course, all who oppose Christ are anti-Christ, but none specifically.

As I said, Angelino, directly and rationally refute my argument and offer your own rational argument with scriptural support, because what you have here are empty assertions, conclusions, or parroting some kind of “theology” which doesn’t cut it.

Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment [word] of God, you hold the tradition of men... ...Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which you have delivered: and many such like things you do.
Mark 7:7-8,13.

You're committing a gross logical error, equating apples and oranges.

In the verse you cite, Jesus is specifically denouncing the tradition of the Pharisees, which became codified in the Talmud.

Jesus is not denouncing the tradition of His Church, which He founded upon Peter, the Rock (the Catholic Church).

You're equating the tradition of those who opposed Jesus with the tradition of those who were approved by Jesus.

Jesus ran head-on with the religious traditions of his day. So it it is today. There are a lot of modern day Pharisees which do the same thing - replace God’s Word with man’s traditions. The Catholic Church is full of them.

The battles recorded in Revelation are ongoing and have been ongoing.

But that doesn’t prevent them from being historical and being prophetic of specific End Times events to come.

The same battles from Adam and Eve in the Garden, being tempted by the serpent, are ongoing. Yet at a certain time, near the beginning, those events actually happened.

Not only in Revelation, but in other places in the New Testament and in the Bible overall we have prophecies of these End Times and the news that this world will not continue forever.

666 - the Beast - does represent man. And the False Prophet represents man leaning on his own understanding, his reason. Never have we done that so much, collectively, as we do now do to our trust in “science and technology.”

“Advanced” modern societies worship them as gods, forgetting the point to life here is to go on to Heaven to live with God while incidentally not going to Hell and existing without Him and without hope.

The False Prophet of “reason, science, and technology” does wonders that make people turn away from God and lead them to worship the 666 Beast, Man. It’s always been this way to some extent, but in our times, we’ve taken this to unprecedented levels. So many people will say outright that they believe man should replace God as our highest authority.

And with that all said, the Beast and the False Prophet will also no doubt be actual persons. Call them the ultimate Beast and the ultimate False Prophet. Others have been like them throughout history, just not to the same extreme, and the predecessors helped pave the way for the final, supreme Beast and False Prophet.

Regardless, the plain English in Revelation 19:11-16,19-21 directly contradicts Angelino97's denial posted as His Third Coming in which the world will end, with the judgment for all [actually the second part of his second coming WITH his saints].

"Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints." Jude 14.

As I said, Revelation is mostly metaphor and symbolism. Mainly the bulk of it, within the middle.

The first few chapters are John addressing specific problems of historical churches in Asia Minor. Although his admonitions are also intended for all ages.

Yes, there will be a General Judgment and then entry for the saved into Heaven. But only one Coming, loud and obvious. No secret earlier coming; no coming in two stages.

The description of the New Jerusalem is also symbolic, not an actual, physical description of the city. The 12 gates symbolize the church (12 apostles). John is saying that the entrance to the New Jerusalem is through the Church.

It is the best version in English, I believe, after looking into the others. I do believe the Lord made it as it was made for a reason, so we’d have a dependable Bible even now.
