As if high school weren’t scary enough: a Harrisburg building once used as a secondary school will host a haunted house this fall.
The Bridge Eco Village, which is located in a building that was once the Bishop McDevitt High School, has announced a haunted attraction in partnership with Rotten Concepts. The attraction will be called The Unholy Schoolhouse, and plays into the building’s past as a parochial school under the Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg.
“We wanted to keep the theme of the school,” said Dennis Miller Jr., founder of Rotten Concepts. “We wanted to capitalize on what it was.”
Miller said that his Reading-based company supplies props and actors for the attractions, as well as providing training for other performers that will be playing roles in the haunted house. This particular attraction, he said, will be operating on three levels of the building.
“It’s three floors,” Miller said. “You start in the basement, come up to the first floor, and come out on the second floor on the east wing of the school.”
The event page for The Unholy Schoolhouse mentions that the attraction will include “demonic nuns and damned teachers,” and that visitors will will be “risking not only your life, but your faith and your very souls.”

Well they have levitating nuns?
They demolished my Catholic hs in Cleveland, and the building wasn’t super old, opening in 62.
Works for me.
Super old? Maybe not. But 60 is still old.
Agree, it was a well built building of Indiana limestone but the demographics changed and there were not enough students to support it.
I like haunted houses...
I hope they have really good security.
That town is run by BLMers.
In the third stall of the public restroom last I saw.
The old McDevit HS is a truly impressive building, which is what the bishop desired. It deserves better than this sacreligious mockery.
When the USCCB supports the concept of structural racism, tells white people they are racist just by existing and then tells you that you can not carry a weapon into church to protect yourself from democrat party killers (like my priest recently did publically), then the Catholic church invites its own demise.
Not worth arguing with Father Commie. Just keep on packing. If there is a shooting incident hopefully Father Commie will get to eat lead. That would be a twofer. Dead commie and you can shoot the shooter.
They do that every day.
Have been for hundreds of years.
Their demise is certain.
My parish church is next door to the State Police barracks.
There are good men at every Mass, packing heat.
I always feel safe there.
