Interesting indeed. The God of the Bible often used pagan nations and peoples to bring His chosen people to their knees....only to have them backslide again. Is this one of those times perhaps?
I’ve thought this for a while. Russia’s biggest crime is being anti-LGBTQ.
We sure do live in interesting times

Ultimately, the world’s conflicts and those especially in America between the Dark Left and the Patriotic Right are spiritual battles.
Satan is the one who “weakens the nations” (Is 14:12). He’s using the Left to do that big time in America.
Worth considering.
The religious divide of today is between Sodomy and non-Sodomy.
Russia invaded Ukraine. Russia started this war at the direction of "ex" KGB officer Vladimir Putin.
It seems as though the Russian leadership sees the importance of a unifying religion. The old one, Communism, just can’t compete due to its obvious failures whenever tried.
It’s not that Russian leaders or its people are particularly more religious than you would find elsewhere, it’s just that they realize Christianity’s importance and don’t seem to hate it.
Even the Communist Chinese, in trying to figure out why the West was so successful, eventually found the answer rested in Christianity.
It is not without reason that we associate great civilizations with religion: Egypt, Greece and Rome with their pantheistic religions; Spain, France England, Portugal, Holland, Germany, Russia and their empires with Christianity; China with Buddhism and Taoism; Khmer Empire with Buddhism, etc.
Can you think of any civilization that became great with no unifying principle or religion? I can’t.
Saker blog trash from a known kook who wrote crazy stuff about the pyramids.
Absolutely correct. The policies that the State Department promotes are anti-human, anti-Christian, and anti-Western Civilization. That is why Russia and the State Department are such deadly enemies.
I came in to argue with the headline.
Expecting that they would be saying that it was the Good and Godly West against the evil and Godless Russians... the old argument of the 1950s-1980s.
But the author is right. Positions have reversed. The rulers of the west ARE evil Satanic totalitarians, (some of whom PRETEND to be Catholics or Christians). As I understand it, Russia is now a Christian leaning nation, and it seems as if their leaders at least are tolerant of ‘the religious right’ even if some of them are just as evil and totalitarian as those rule the USA, Canada and Western Europe.
Interesting article, but a bit too simplistic in its argument. But, that is not the fault of the author; rather, it is the nature of the subject matter.
I found the following data at “ceoworld.biz.” It is interesting that Ukraine is almost twice as religious as Russia (31% to 17%). I was somewhat surprised by the list, as I thought, for instance, that Spain and Italy would have been higher than what they were. The bottom tier doesn’t surprise me at all (except for the Czech Republic).
Anyway:

I might have believed it if Russia didn’t exclusively use Jihadis to take Mauriapol and Sievierodonetsk/Lysichansk.
Hundreds of video’s of Russian’s yelling Aluha Akbar before firing their weapons is hard to unsee.
This is propaganda for the gullible, and Putin see’s the Religious as gullible.
Bmrk for later.

Total rubbish. 1. Russia’s alliance with China. 2. Lenin hasn’t been buried, he’s still on display in Moscow. 3. Zyuganov is one of Putin’s closest ideological advisors. 4. Massive Soviet throwback parades happen annually during the so called “Victory Day”, complete woth Soviet flags and the old Soviet anthem. 5. Putin favorably compared Communism to Christanity, and said we should become more Communist. 6. Putin said that the Collapse of USSR1 was the greatest catastrophe ever (it was actually a reorganization, see Golitsyn and Nyquist). 7. Putin praises the KGB, NKVD, Stalin and Lenin frequently. 8. Putin only said that Lenin should have created one total Soviet state with no quasi independent “republics”. 9. Statues of Lenin, Stalin, and other Soviet figures have returned to many city squares in the Russian Federation.
That’s a stretch
Bullshit. The Russian Orthodox Church is on board with whatever Putin wants. Church attendance in Russia is even lower than here in America. The conflict in Ukraine is down to Putin’s ambitions and Russian ultra-nationalism. Framing it as a religous or moral battle is for Russian nationalists and international socialists.

There is nothing Christian or just about what Russia is doing.
