Francis has put the debate on ecclesiastical offices on a new track.
Changes to the priesthood? The Pope's plans for lay ministries
In Germany, Catholic reformers are calling for women to be ordained to the priesthood, seeing it as equal rights. But Pope Francis has taken a different path that could radically change the entire priesthood.
Quietly, Pope Francis has set the debate about ministries in the Catholic Church on a new track this year with three short letters. While in Germany the Synodal Way and demonstrations of "Maria 2.0" call for the admission of women to all ecclesiastical offices - but at least to the ordained diaconate - the Pope from Latin America has opted for a completely different path.

Hopefully he will need to explain and will be held accountable by his “boss” for his continuing, deliberate attacks on the church’s orthodoxy in the name of “progress” (i.e., “progressivism)
They were apparently doing it wrong for 2000 years
It’s a terrible thing to watch Francis tear everything down but at least Catholics have Eastern Orthodoxy to flee to.
What is the atheist anti-Pope Fagrancid up to now!!??!?!
Watch Francis “auto-schism” the Church from within Rome......
This former Catholic swam the Bosporus two years ago.
What will be the impact on the Mass.
The commie Pope will probably go for open recruiting of homos.

All part of God’s plan.
Just as one suggestion, the Pope could require heterosexual, non-pedophile priests?
God’s plan, unfortunately, often includes trials and even scourging.
The Catholic church used to have a lot of lay and lower level, minor order jobs. Often composers and artisans would take such jobs to show their employers their abilities and adherence to religious faith and doctrine in their work.
From the 3rd century AD up until seven years after the Second Vatican Council (1962–1965), the Catholic Church had four minor orders up to the order of subdeacon, which were conferred on seminarians pro forma before they became deacons. The minor orders and the subdiaconate were not considered sacraments, and for simplicity were suppressed under Pope Paul VI in 1972.
None other than the composer Franz Liszt was made a porter, lector, exorcist, acolyte, and later an honorary canon.
He spends far too much time toying around

Something needs to be done. Average age of priests in the United States is 64.
“What will be the impact on the Mass.”
It is hard to say. The article is poorly written with a lot of jargon and not much substance. I guess we will have to see how it plays out.
Aren’t they already?
Straight seminarians who didn't want to spend the weekend at the Archbishop's beach house are already washed out.
