Stetter-Karp on the Swiss Synod report: "It is about setting the Church in motion!"

The Presidency of the Central Committee of German Catholics "The report that went from Switzerland to Rome shows that the concerns of Catholics are similar to those of their German brothers and sisters in faith. It is about setting the Church in motion!

From the article, “ If so few people took part, why should any notice be taken of the results....which are basically the musings of handfuls of progressive activists. ”

That’s a good question.

I have two questions: What leadership role(s) do women have in the RCC?
and
Are there women priests? And if there are, are they only on the margins of the “church”?

Thanks.

"Leadership role" needs a clear definition.

Are there women priests?

NO! Those who claim to be such are excommunicated both automatically by carrying out the mockery of ordination and almost always explicitly by the nearest bishop.

I once attempted to participate in a diocesan synod. I went to a parish session. They gave us handouts, we read the handouts. Then the presenter put the handouts on PowerPoint and read the handouts out loud. Then the presenter told us what had just been read.

I went out to my car and screamed. Screamed some more. Had never before been bored to the point of agony.

My impression, most of the participants are mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed on s-—. A few machers reach predetermined results in the back rooms.

My new diocese is doing something similar, listening sessions.

Where is the quest for holiness, depth, challenge, sacrifice?

Politicians run the church, and holiness lives in the chinks and gaps.

Is the position held by the leader of a group whose responsibilities include the guidance of others to work towards common aims.

That definition would seem to cover a lot of ground.

Teachers (at all levels of formal education) would seem to qualify. Likewise Abbesses and Mothers Superior of women's religious orders. The Church recognizes several people (over the last 2 millennia) as "Doctors of the Church". In this case, "Doctor" is used in its original and proper meaning of "one who is qualified to teach others". Several women are among them. To be fair the title is awarded posthumously, but the person's teaching and leadership was recognized during his or her life. Indeed, mothers are recognized in Scripture and by Church teaching as having authority over their children.
