Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Exodus 2

The Birth of Moses

2 Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, 2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. 3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket[a] for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. 4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.

5 Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it. 6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said.

7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?”

8 “Yes, go,” she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother. 9 Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses,[b] saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father Who Art in Heaven,

Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!

How Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,

Our God, King of The Universe,

Who Has Brought Us To This Day!

We Come into Your Presence With Singing

and into Your Courts With Praise,

For You Alone Are Worthy,

You Alone Are LORD;

You Alone Are The Host High;

You Alone Are The LORD of Hosts;

And You Alone Hold The Power of Life and Death in Your Hand.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

What a deal.

Getting paid by the enemy to nurse and raise your own child.

Back in the Sixth Grade, I was handed a book by a girlfriend. "You gotta read this," she whispered. "It's by a girl and she talks about her "monthly".

Well, I knew I had to find out about that forbidden subject, because I was rapidly approaching what was then known as "THE AWKWARD AGE". Since it was too embarrassing to talk to adults about it, we "tweens" talked amongst ourselves, and thus learned all the wrong things. In those days, women's products were wrapped in plain brown paper and kept behind the counter at pharmacies. The whole thing was shrouded in secrecy, which was stupid, because it was a normal thing that happened to everybody. Anyway, I grabbed the book, hid it under my shirt, and ran home to read it in secret.

Well, the author of the book, a young girl, did indeed mention her "Monthly", but only once or twice. The rest of the book was about her and her family hiding in an attic. The book was The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.

And so, by seeking information about my own body's natural processes, I learned about genocide.

The Nazis were not the first evil ones to try to eliminate the Jewish People. The unnamed "Pharaoh" of the Book of Exodus tried it by killing all the male babies at birth. The family of Moses attempted to save their new baby boy by hiding him and then setting him adrift in the Nile. The Hebrew word for the little basket, lined with pitch to make it watertight, is the same word used for Noah's Ark. This indicated that the family of Moses believed that the little trip down the Nile would save his life. This is further supported by Miriam, the big sister, running along the banks to report back the outcome.

In the movie "The Ten Commandments", much is made of the life Moses lived as the adopted son of Pharaoh's daughter. Cecil B. DeMille used more than the Bible as his sources, including the Talmud, the Midrash, and other extra-biblical material. There was a lot to flesh out, considering that this part of Moses's life only takes up one paragraph in the Torah. In the movie, Moses was ratted out by the slave woman Mehmet, who is killed by Moses's love-interest Nefertiri (all Hollywood!).

Nobody really knows who ratted out the Frank Family, but there is some speculation. Anne Frank died in Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945, but her book survives to this day.

And "women's poducts" are relentlessly advertised on TV. It seems that there are no mysteries anymore.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen, left that other site

I also think of the slaughter of the innocence after Christ was born. It seems when God sends a deliver, the enemy sends a slaughter to futilely prevent it.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Psalm 131

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up,
my eyes are not raised too high;
I do not occupy myself with things
too great and too marvellous for me.
2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul,
like a weaned child with its mother;
my soul is like the weaned child that is with me.*

3 O Israel, hope in the Lord
from this time on and for evermore.
