Twenty miles North-East of the ancient Armrnian capital city Yerevan there is Mount Atis, over 8,000 ft high above the sea level. A 100+ ft high monument of Jesus Christ on a 150 ft base is about to be erected on top of this mountain.
Works on the project have already been started with road construction; cableway will also be built to the monument site.
– This is going to be the highest monument to our Savior in the world, – says Mr. Tsaroukian, the chief sponsor of the project. – It will be covered with luminiferous material, emitting light at night. A Christian History museum will also be built there.
The project is about ti be completed in three years, though certain hurdles remain to be cleared concerning the preservation of other objects of historic and archaeological significance in the vicinity of the future monument.

But what if it makes someone “uncomfortable”? Isn’t that the test for permitting practically every in the world?
..........radical muslims will blow it up within a year........
Nice. Strategically placed so it is looking over Yeravan, while it is looking over Yerevan to Muslims on Mt Ararat.

Armenia is like Israel in that they are members of that exceedingly small club of world nations completely or nearly surrounded by enemies that want to see them wiped out.
I always remember that passage in the Bible where Jesus said to build giant statues of him.
But it will lack the dramatic backdrop of the “Christ the Redeemer” statue in Brazil.
Cool.
It’s next to the line “ everything you are to do or believe is only with the pages of this book”.

Is this something which Jesus would do?
Not saying it is wrong. Just asking.
Right next to the passage that describes what he looked like.
“Right next to the passage that describes what he looked like.”
That’s the one.
They’re just trying to defuse the de-nazification argument before things turn ugly.
It’s called a work of faith. Ever think it may bring people to the one true faith?
