Going for the Gold of God!

Going for the Gold of God!

Jesus loved His Father so much that he was willing to take off his pure golden crown. Before he began his life of sacrifice, he went to a wedding with his family. It was a time for him to enjoy being with people. The first miracle of turning water into wine was a time to savor drinking the wine before he, as the Vine, was going to be crushed into the vat of human sin. At his trial, Roman soldiers beat a crown of thorns into his head. As blood dripped into his eyes and mouth, he tasted death for every man. His blood was the only way for God to accept mankind, who, on their own, could only offer a tarnished dirty crown. Jesus lay his life down so we could wear the Crown of Life that is given to those who persevere to the end of the race that is set before them. To those who accepted that sacrifice, having had their sins forgiven, who were washed by the water and the blood, they became the golden children of God. This Crown is not given to the mighty, or the strong, but to those who humbly kneel at the Cross of Jesus; where a nail held his heel. They kneel contritely, but arise renewed as a man refreshed. This new man is given a spiritual song, but when he stumbles on the rocky rock, the Holy Spirit is there to give him a drink of the new wine. Like an athlete, striving for the gold, his feet running on dirt, while sweat runs down his shirt, he lives to love God and his fellow man. Love has become his life's purpose and his gift, and when the race has worn him down, at the feet of God he lays down the crown given to him by Jesus. He is welcomed as a son into the golden kingdom of God! My husband went into the army as a young man The army trained him how to use a gun to defend his country. He was a willing warrior motivated by his love for the land that gave him his freedom and the place where his family, his love, lived. For this he would have gladly lay his life down. When, as a commander during the Iraq war, a terrorist held a child as a shield, he called for a cease fire. He prayed and God made an evil man face his own destruction. The godly man went home to his praying wife, and over time his homeland had changed, Now under a socialist left, they try to tell him to lay his freedom and his gun down for a false ideal meant to steal. As the golden eagle who soars over a land born for the wild and free, his golden fathers glinting in the sun, he gives a primitive call, this is his sky, he will not meekly die! As he hold his mate in the time to create, his hold is bold! When he swoops down to the river to fish and eat his meat he keeps his wings morally high and.

We tell our next generations the story of the Son of God who lay down his crown upon tender little heads, we daily love our children's children, we protect them from the two and four legged wild.

We lost a chicken recently, injured by a critter through the fence, so we put up a game camera. We saw a bobcat and a family of raccoon climbing on it in an attempt to get the chickens. One morning my husband found the bobcat as he came around the corner of the barn. The panicked cat ran into an antique bird cage and was trapped momentarily. My husband could have used his handgun to get rid of the threat to our livestock but judging that since farm equipment was behind it he chose to let the fear of man be the motivation for it to depart, we haven't seen it since. So, my son and husband put up an electric fence and we keep the water hose ready to put out any flaming raccoons! But they too, have seemed to get the message! We have over-the-hill neighbors who have a Jenny and a Jack mule we hear the mules bray, kind of like the politicians on the news- lots of noise but very little “poise”. But on this farm, we have the protection of an army of Gods angels to keep us from harm. We are in our golden years after forty years of marriage (next Sunday!) we will love and live in leisure, having time to explore parts of our country that we want to see. As we drink from the wine that comes from the vine deeply planted in the American soil of some soldiers whose lifeblood on this land was shed those were the gold who shine; for their honor we determinedly keep our honor high to keep the freedoms alive this golden eagle will fly over earth and sky God over and in America ever lets it live and not die!
