Why woke 'Christians' support abortion
Christian Post ^ | July 4, 2022 | Samuel Sey

If you’re surprised that the most outspoken Christians on social media for “justice” are not rejoicing over the most important Supreme Court ruling in our lifetime — you shouldn’t be.

If you’re surprised that many woke “Christians” are angry that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade — you shouldn’t be.

You shouldn’t be surprised many woke “Christians” support abortion.

As a pro-life advocate and a critic of woke ideology within the Church — I’ve been warning about Woke Christians’ implicit support for abortion for many years.

Three years ago, I said:

“One of the biggest indictments against the social justice movement within evangelicalism today is that it hasn’t produced a greater passion against the biggest human rights violation of our time — abortion. In fact, it’s producing more apathy and support for abortion.”

Woke “Christians” were implicitly supporting abortion years before they revealed their explicit support recently.

For years they claimed they were “holistically pro-life” to conceal their pro-abortion views. In fact, I know woke “Christians” who say they’re “holistically pro-life” on social media, but privately — they’ve told me they’re pro-abortion.

For that reason, one of the best things about Roe v. Wade being overturned — other than hundreds of thousands of babies being rescued from murder — is that it’s exposing what many woke “Christians” really think about abortion and justice.

As the Bible says, “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers” (Proverbs 21:15).

With that in mind, some of the woke “Christians” who’ve revealed some level of support for abortion are people like Dante Stewart (a regular writer at Christianity Today), The Truth’s Table podcast hosts (Ekemini Uwan, Christina Edmondson, Michelle Higgins), and Mika Edmondson (a pastor and a regular contributor at The Gospel Coalition).

Because they are not Christians.

If they were, God himself would have changed their hearts and they would not be able to support Abortion.

There is no ‘justice’ for the unborn. That fact will never change.

Is not “Woke Christian” one of the prime candidates for the best Oxymoron of all time?

You can be woke or you can be Christian. You can’t be both.

I served on an Elder board at a church we used to attend. One night at dinner with another Elder and our wives, we got into a huge debate on abortion. I was shocked to hear him say “God doesn’t care about abortion.” His logic is that he believes that God doesn’t care about political issues and abortion is only a political concern. I quietly informed him that he is wrong on both accounts and that he was not qualified to serve as an Elder. I’ve never looked at this person the same way again. Sadly, that entire church has moved in that liberal direction after we left.

One cannot be a Christian and a leftist. The time for choosing is now.

“Woke” and “Christian” do not go together.

Absolutely correct.

Any Christian that votes democrat is not really a Christian. Especially if they are Catholic.

I for one was tired of standing in the Communion line with pro-aborts presenting themselves as sinless...

Not surprised at all - many of them were claiming to be pro-life but that our votes can’t really do anything about it and Republicans have never implemented any pro-life policies to justify their support for Democrats. This is not obviously not true - Reagan, both Bush presidents (especially W.), not to mention governors and Republican controlled legislatures have passed numerous pro-life policies, and then of course Trump did as well. All of the justices who voted to uphold the Mississippi law were Republican appointed justices and of course the 5 who voted to overturn Roe. This could not have occurred if Democrats had been elected Presidents in 1988, 2004, and 2016.

Then with the Roe decision being overturned and exposing their rhetoric to be false once and for all, they have had to acknowledge they are pro-”choice” by not being glad pro-life policies are being implemented. Including promoting false rhetoric and narratives about “problem pregnancies” as though legitimate medical care is related to abortion on demand. When I saw these comments I was slightly disappointed but not surprised...it was what I was really expecting to see.

There are documents from the early Church that condemn abortion, and abortion has been condemned by Christians of all traditions until fairly recently. I’ll bet that those who have gone woke on abortion budged on other theological and moral issues first.

Because they support fornication, and are not practicing Christians. May not be Christians at all.

They begin walking by sight not faith and see the world’s view of things and think this is the way to be “good people”.

They become reeds blowing in the wind.

“Woke” Christians? These are categorically mentally unstable/ ill lost souls who know God is there but lack the clarity to interpret the proper message.

Suffice to say they can be saved. Preferably sooner than later.

“Christian” means “Christ-like” (something I’m far from being) and it does not mean “catholic”, or “methodist”, or “conservative”, or “liberal”, or “woke”. This is not a “Christian nation” as so often repeated, but the latter should be clear by now. It’s an individual struggle, regardless of the man made and political crap.

The contradiction starts right at the White House with Biden, a supposed Catholic. One day they will look back at the Biden regime and see what a freak show it was. Everything about them is outrageous and over the top: trans people everywhere, a dishonest, liar of a president who goes with all other lies about gender and abortion, an LGBT+ black speaker who is next to incompetent, a VP who is incompetent, a military filled with wokeness, trans men with no balls, the country going down the sh!thole… I’m just waiting for the midgets to show up, and then we’ll have a full 3 Ring Circus. Everybody is a clown. That’s the Biden legacy… Evil CLOWNS!

The four years the world was ruled by EVIL CLOWNS! Who seen this coming! The Biden Evil Clown posse takes over the world.

You’re not a Christian if you support abortion.
