Cdl. Marx: ‘The Time is Ripe’ for Women’s Diaconate in the Church

‘I believe that the time is ripe that it must and should be open to men and women,’ said the dissident German archbishop and top adviser to Pope Francis.

MUNICH (LifeSiteNews) — Cardinal Reinhard Marx, a dissident German prelate and close adviser of Pope Francis, called for the establishment of the women’s diaconate on Saturday.

“I believe that the time is ripe that it must and should be open to men and women,” said the Munich Archbishop during a sermon at the Cathedral of Our Lady, reported MK-Online, adding that Marx called for “a new approach.”

Marx said a lot of work remains to be done “theologically and practically,” according to the German Catholic outlet. He continued, “I am convinced that this renewal can be a great gift for the church.”

The announcement was made on the occasion of the 150th birthday of Ellen Ammann, who co-founded the Munich branch of the German Catholic Women’s Association. During his sermon, Marx called on Ammann to “accompany us on this path.”

The women’s diaconate itself has been declared impossible by former prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith Cardinal Gerhard Müller, but the participants in Germany’s Synodal Path, which include Marx, have exceeded this already-heterodox aspiration by calling for women priests as well.

The ordination of women was also definitively ruled out as an impossibility by JPII and B16.

Reinhard Marx: sounds like a close relative of Karl.

And why are you against a woman to be a diaconate?
I think it is high time women be brought into the church equal to a Priest.

I have lost faith in this church with it’s male run organization that has hidden child abuse by priests.

This would not be a case with women in the Priesthood.

You have so many gays in the priesthood that it has become sick and many people have walked away from the church.

Yes, it is time to bring women in.

The remark was in reference to the author’s describing Marx as a “close associate” of Pope Francis.

Bull CRAP.

St. Paul’s letter to Timothy noted the corruption prevalent among most women, and they should not be allowed to have dominion over men for ANY reason.

This is especially true for positions of Christian authority.

Only a fool lets a woman tell him what to do, and Paul knew that back in his day.

Paul would have told you otherwise, and I would certainly listen to Paul before I listen to you.

Only if you do not believe the Bible is the Word of God - then anything you can think of is OK.

Paul is very specific - a deacon must be the husband of one wife - - and he is careful not to let you mistake this for a local tradition by taking us all the way back to the fall, which makes this very clear.

Good luck when you face the Judgment seat!

quote “corruption prevalent among most women”

what?!?

in what alternative world do you live in, because in the one I have for 50+ years women are FAR better humans in general than men, in almost every possible way.

You clearly never served in the military.

……And Paul would have told you how wrong you are.

Take it up with Paul. He said it. Saw a study today. More women than men cheat on their spouse.

Satan, and tares, don’t have much use for Paul.

If they had their way, nothing after the book of john would be allowed in the new testament.

Our Lord Jesus Christ limited the sacrament of Holy Orders to men. Do you have a problem with that?

“I think it is high time women be brought into the church equal to a Priest.”
___________________________________

Raised in the Catholic Church.

Not a member, now. Walked away.

This is to address only the issue of ‘equality.’

Eve bit the Forbidden Fruit because she wanted to be ‘like’ God.

Equal.

In all the history, using ‘equality,’ as a foil, dangerous, murderous events have taken place.

If inside the Catholic Church there are perversions then those inside are responsible for cleaning those perversions - wiping them off the map so they do not harm.

Adding more perversions will not help to remove the original perversions.

Women are every bit as evil and vile as men, in general.

We simply hide the evil a bit better, as it were.....like wearing make-up.

If you believe women in the Priesthood will be fine you are extremely ignorant of the history of Catholic Nuns.

Beatings. Rapes. Murders.

The nuns in the 60’s were an open indication of the Catholic Nuns turning to rebellion.

Only come the day both the Lost and the Saved see Christ together (and for the Lost, the last time), will we see what is in each man and woman’s heart.

Until then, however, remember we are Eve’s legacy and it was she who having knowledge of Good and Evil tricked Adam.

Even out of the Catholic Church and with my own misgivings of the Catholic Church, it is clear to see women are not suited for leadership.

As I said, I am only addressing the ‘equality’ issue.

Yes, it is time to bring women in.

No.

The Catholic Church has problems. There is a gay mafia.

But women pastors have hurt both mainstream Protestantism and Evangelical Christianity. Both have moved progressively leftward over the decades, paralleling their influx of women pastors, priests, and ministers.

you are merely echoing PC talking points.

The Bible says male and female he made them.

My mother explained it to me this way: God allowed men to become priests, because the most important job of having babies was given to women.

The modern world hates babies and want to make women into pseudo men, which is why they are pushing sexual perversion as normal, and contraception because making babies is the enemy. Women can do most jobs, but when they do, they bring their femininity to their job .

In case you didn't notice, churches that have women priests end up pushing this gender agenda. This is less true in non sacramental churches, where women essentially lead a prayer service, not the sacrifice of the mass.

Catholic women can teach and preach, (Mother Angelica comes to mind) and even can correct the pope when he is in error (Catherine of Siena comes to mind).

but the mass is a sacrifice and much deeper than a mere prayer service. The priest is taking the place of Jesus, the King, Father, protector, and priest. I hate to quote atheists, but there are deep, symbolic (dare I say Jungian) reasons behind this. It has to do with God's plan to see everyone as part of the Body of Christ, and sees sexual role models as part of the pattern that emphasizes the importance of family over selfish individualism. Which is why the PC who push women priests also push gay rights, contraception, abortion, and make the mass banal and non reverent.

And why are you against a woman to be a diaconate?

Because a Church with women deacons or ministers always loses its faith. Look at the Anglican and Methodist churches as current examples. A Church run by women will lose sight of its original mission statement and become a gay or green church, or whatever the flavor of the day is. Paul was right 2,000 years ago.
