I’m wondering if the USCCB refused to pursue this case to the end because it has a legitimate fear that a court will rule that it, along with its affiliates in the foster care business, aren’t religious organizations by any objective measure.

Thos might be due to the collaboration among many different christian organizations.

It may be more particular to opposition to adoption if there is a aeparate institution involved that has actual cuatody of the child.

I’m not entirely sure
