The expelled Opus Dei Father Janvier Gbénou, 42, who calls himself Jesusmary Missigbètò and lives currently with his parents in Ivory Coast, has received July 1 a Decree of the Congregation for Bishops, signed by Francis and Cardinal Ouellet.
It validates sanctions imposed on Gbénou by the Opus Dei for an alleged lack of “respect and obedience to the Supreme Pontiff” (Can 273), a paragraph that perhaps was never used before in Church history.
Gbénou has questioned Francis’ homosexualism. Currently, he is forbidden to celebrate Mass in public and private, to preach and hear confessions.
He calls the decision unjust stating that in conscience - what Francis values highly in the case of unrepentant sinners -, he cannot renounce his criticism because Francis himself "has seriously lacked respect and obedience to God and the People of God."
Gbénou quotes Christ, Popes and Vatican documents against Francis' homosex-heresy. He lists homosexualist Cardinals and their offences against Church teaching like Hollerich (Luxembourg) who called the Church’s teaching on homosexuality “false,” Zuppi (Bologna) who allowed a homosex "blessing", Cupich (Chicago) who let homosexuals preach.
The Francis victim asks: “What sanction for these unfaithful cardinals to the teaching of the Catholic Church? None. On the contrary, positions of responsibility and public praise from Francis while priests faithful to Christian Tradition are sanctioned.”
