I don’t practice Hinduism, and I don’t believe in possession.
The kid is probably mentally ill.

If you feel better calling the exact same poses “stretching”, then I practice “stretching”. Meditation is just emptying the mind of thought and concentrating on breathing for me. It calms me down and helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

My husband was hit by a car five years ago and suffered a minor TBI. His balance and coordination was effected. We took private lessons from a yoga instructor friend of ours and my husband’s issues improved markedly.
For me — my tinitus disappeared, and a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders went away.
Curiously, we are even *MORE* committed Christians than we were before the accident, and the supposed “Evil Debil’s Yogi Stretching” hasn’t caused us to vomit pea soup, crab walk backwards down stairs or our heads to spin around.
I think the only thing demonic about yoga is the tendancy for “large ladies” to squeeze themselves into yoga pants (they look like sausage casings.)
There’s a lot of silly ideas going around.
