Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Genesis 10

The Semites

21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was[h] Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber.

22 The sons of Shem:

Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.

23 The sons of Aram:

Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.[i]

24 Arphaxad was the father of[j] Shelah,

and Shelah the father of Eber.

25 Two sons were born to Eber:

One was named Peleg,[k] because in his time the earth was divided; his brother was named Joktan.

26 Joktan was the father of

Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

30 The region where they lived stretched from Mesha toward Sephar, in the eastern hill country.

31 These are the sons of Shem by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.

32 These are the clans of Noah’s sons, according to their lines of descent, within their nations. From these the nations spread out over the earth after the flood.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent,
How Glorious,
How Majestic,
Is Your Name Over All The Earth!
The Earth is Yours,
The Heavens,
And the Vast Expanses of Space,
You Created it All,
And it is All Under Your Control.

Abba Father!
How Deep is This Thirst for You within me!
How I Long For the Deep Fellowship of The Soul,
that is like the Refreshment of Sparkling Waterfalls,
And Precious Life-Giving Oasis
in The Bleak and Parched Desert!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Yesterday, I went to a Memorial Day Cookout combined with a Farewell Party for one of my neighbors who sold her house and is moving out . She is a really sweet neighbor and we are all going to miss her. At the Cookout, I ran into a friend I haven't seen for a while, and we "caught up" with each other's activities. One of the things we talked about was The Online College Courses available. (I've mentioned these before in this Thread, as I really enjoyed them.) Anyway, my friend said she was taking a course in "Conflict Management". She explained that it used to be called "Conflict Resolution", but not anymore. Then someone else joined the conversation, and the subject changed. But it got me to thinking: "Why the Name Change?" In light of Scripture, let's look at the difference.

In the beginning of Genesis 6, we see a huge Conflict. The corruption of humanity was so intense that, according to Scripture, God regretted creating humans. That's pretty BAD. Scripture also indicates that the corruption went right down to the DNA. Noah and his family are described as "righteous" but that doesn't mean that they weren't sinners just like everybody else. It could mean that Noah had not participated in the activity that caused the genetic corruption of his species. In any case, God "resolved" the Conflict by wiping the slate clean and starting over with Noah's family. When we are faced with an insurmountable conflict, we do not have the option of wiping out the people who offend us. Sometimes we just can't "FIX IT." However, we can change how we react to conflict, and thus, manage it.

As we can see from the Chapters following The Flood, Noah and his sons were not sinless. Noah got drunk and behaved in an unseemly manner Ham mocked his father. Noah cursed his son Ham and grandson Canaan. Although the sins of Shem and Japheth are not recorded here, I'm sure they were no paragons of virtue either. And so, here was a conflict that could not be resolved, but ony managed. The brothers split up and went their separate ways, having sons and daughters and founding nations. But...look at the descendants of Shem. Do they look familiar? I'll give you a hint. They are the ancestors of Abraham, King David, and finally, Jesus of Nazareth.

And that is the beginning of the generations that will bring forth the Ultimate Conflict Resolution of All Time.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Peleg sounds like he lived in interesting times, when the earth was divided.

Psalm 13

To the leader. A Psalm of David.

1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me for ever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
2 How long must I bear pain* in my soul,
and have sorrow in my heart all day long?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God!
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep the sleep of death,
4 and my enemy will say, ‘I have prevailed’;
my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

5 But I trusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
because he has dealt bountifully with me.
