[Catholic Caucus] Archbishop Aguer: Vatican Resurrects Evil "Spirit of the Council"

Francis persistence in mockingly those who have a secure faith is a cause of astonishment, bewilderment, and concern, writes retired Archbishop Hector Aguer on Rorate-caeli.blogspot.com (May 3).

He complains that Francis is reviling Catholics as "rigorous Pharisees” and contradicts the Bible and John Paul II's and Benedict XVI's teaching.

For Aguer, Francis' relativistic moralism reduces faith, morals and spirituality into Kant's practical reason and submits to the dictates of a New World Order wanted by Freemasonry and the international money imperialism.

Aguer writes that “the Vatican is a hive of Freemasons, who help each other to climb to the most influential positions.”

He recalls Paul VI who said that the smoke of Satan has entered the House of God adding that the seductive “spirit of the Council” appears again, this time from the Vatican itself.

And it has been Reaffirmed by ST. John Paul II and the Catechism to name a few since then.

Nonsense. Vatican II, more correctly referred to as the Satan Council, by saying this said NOTHING that had not already been said countless times in countless other forums. And regurgitating that fact did nothing to ameliorate the damage that wicked council did to the Body of Christ by transforming the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass into just another heretical Protestant rebuke of that Sacrifice. That’s a clever move on your part, knowing as you surely do that the Church has always taught that Jesus Christ is the source and summit of the Christian faith, and therefore through the mystery of transubstantiation the Holy Eucharist is likewise. C’mon, you have to do better than that to refute my assault upon the Satan Council and the evil it has spawned, which has decimated Holy Mother Church! I can remember when priests were treated with dignity on the streets of Dublin, and Catholics would sign themselves whenever passing a church. But today? Well today priests are fearful of wearing clerical garb on the streets of Dublin and other cities in old Eire. Shame what the Satan Council has done to its priests and to the Faithful, isn’t it?

so I just wanted you to know I really was looking for a serious reply.
No, I can't answer that for you. Some people will decline to answer that question, others just go radio silent when I ask that.
Usually I tend it to be more about the N.O. Mass and bad music, lack of attire, jokester homilies etc.
As off putting is all that can be, none of that can stop me from loving Christ in the fullness of the way he has asked us to.
We ultimately have that responsibility and decide what we are to do. It's the krytponite of our Protestant friends...

Answer: A person who professes belief in any religion could explain that not only the Council, but nothing that has occurred in Catholicism over its entire history can keep them from becoming the Holiest, saintliest person they can be.

Answer: This question is basically the same question you’ve already asked above, so my same answer applies.

Answer: Once again, if the Council doesn’t hold one back, then it would seem that same reasoning could apply equally to the entirety of Catholic faith and teaching. I was speaking specifically of the Vat2 Council- (satan's council as you called it)

No! It most definitely does restrict me. The nearest location where I can participate in the HSOTM is 110 miles from my home. Moreover it has also induced countless other Catholics (in the millions?) to simply walk away from the Church. Here’s a report of how the Satan Council had adversely affected the Church in just 35 years.

But when you get the chance to go there- is it not the most beautiful reminder you have of Christ in your life?

For me it is. Christ has not abandoned us.
I used to travel and stay weekends in Jacksonville , FL and the TLM in the downtown Basillica was worth planning the trip for !
But that is the beauty of Christ – The powerful Grace that cannot be undone by human hands. You have to have that faith and trust in God – because you will need someday- I can guarantee it.

My life is not about me, nor anyone else. That’s not trying to be cold or indifferent.
My life, and actions (comments) always must be focused on Christ being the center of my Life- before anything and all else.
And yet we will all fall short…

(excuse typos- winging this as fast as i can) My journey has been a bit different than the norm. Where you may be a cradle Catholic your entire life- I started out that way- but I started leaving the Church around 20. Then as an Irish kid- I started reading an Englishman –(should have known better !) Bertrand Russell, and his book - “Why I am not a Christian” I loved it though, so intellectual… It was what I needed to hear to escape the controlling Church. I got tired of having to admit to my sins. Oddly enough, after some years of having found nothing worthy or substantial outside the Church- I began reading another Englishman who brought me back ! CS Lewis. He showed me how cold and aloof- and wrong - Russell really was. (GKC deserves honorable mention)
,br> I had many aha moments reading Lewis as it related to my then wandering Catholic faith I was raised on. One in particular line hit home hard- it goes something he wrote along the lines of…. “A cold self-righteous prig who goes to church every day can be closer to going to hell than a prostitute. But obviously, it’s better to be neither one.”

Aha! That WAS my pre-Vat2 grandfather. What an ahole (with all due respect) he was (R.I.P.- I would not be here if not for him)- but he went to Mass everyday-n like a good Catholic. What a mean person he was- and totally unforgiving of anyone. And taboot- he mis-treated the most angelic soul I ever met in life in the precious woman who was my Grandfather. Talk about a mixed marriage. The man probably could not spell the word “love” – at least in the way Christ asks of us. He was wasting his time at Mass- he had to be. No way was this a fruitful activity- except maybe for a respectful obedience to tradition.

But that was about it as far as outward signs would go.

My father too, obviously inherited some of that religiosity- but thankfully not to that degree. And when family tragedy would give him reason to leave the Church years later, he would never return. He had never learned the Faith, to a deepening that would allow him to overcome storms that will rock our boats in our lives. Whether I realized it or not- that embodied the weakness in my faith- and I see it today as I am older- where we can assume millions of Catholics, leave the Church- or are afraid to defend the faith and just have an overall lukewarm-ness to Christ. That’s why the “personal relationship with Jesus” shtick is so seductive for Protestants.

While this may be anecdotal… do not try to tell me the pre Vat 2 Church was all that perfect. It was not. Many of the abusive priests were ordained much early before the council - the Church in many ways existed for the religious- and the laity participated in a "seen, but not heard" format. Ironically ability for the explosion of criticism against the Church and the council- and even resulting in schism- IS ONLY because of Vat 2's focus on the Laity in the mission- and an acceptance of input from the laity. Back in the good ol' days- "Do not ask questions - it is not for you to know".

Yes, here in America it was much different and Christianity was growing – we won the war and saw little devastation on our soil. Europe however was an absolute mess- and the Church was dying. And why shouldn’t? The evil of the human capability had won that day- murdering millions- and cauisng pain and suffering like the world rarely had seen. And the post-war world only offered a promise of suffering and more human devastation. But not in America.

When I read somewhere that “The Church is not something we inherit from the past – but is on Loan to Us, from and for future generations”- I realized what the Church’s purpose really was- what Christ intended all along. Every now and then God will tell us- as he told St. Francis – “Francis, go and rebuild my church which, as you see, is falling down.” Not to run away from- castigate it or join sides with evil to try and destroy.. no he asks us to rebuild it. The Church is always on loan from the future.

The Holy Spirit didn’t bring me back to offer some safe place – where I can shut out the outside world and look for my little piece of comfort- NO- he promises I will suffer for him, the OPPOSITE of comfort-
NO- Christ brought me back to the Church to help rebuild it for future generations- not for me… My Life as I have had to learn the hard way IS NOT ABOUT ME.

The Gospel about Christ walking on water – or calming the sea- has to do with God’s supernatural divine power. But that’s NOT what its only about. Just recently I posted about Peter losing faith, walking on water to Jesus. Christ as Peter to leave the boat- the security of the Church- and walk on unchartered waters. We have to have more faith then Peter with this outside world- faith that means no matter what – Christ CAN BE TRUSTED. When we lose trust in Christ- we will sink.

Pope Francis has NOT caused me to lose trust in God’s providence. I hope all feel this way. God IS IN control- and will be forever. Yes we wished for better leadership from this Pope- and now we realize he is only capable of so much pastorally- and sinfully can often contradict the tenets of the Church. BUT GOD IS NOT unaware of this. The Holy Spirit has guided the Church through worse - and will continue to guide his Church. You have to trust God- and Christ taught Peter. You cannot walk out on the Church because your faith is shaken. Your job is to continually build the Church for those to come. And that means not letting ANYTHING get in the way of keeping the Body of Christ CENTRAL in your life.

If you surrender to the popular, human inspired diatribe against the Church- satan is winning you over. We have to get out of the boat sometimes and trust God to be with us in this fight. And not entertain the schism that is spoken of- and possibly encouraged by - the Pope as well. That’s not building the Church for the Future. Another Gospel of hidden meaning is Christ calming the sea as the apostles feared for their comfort. Christ is sleeping peacefully in his Church- the Boat – while the apostles are wide awake concerned over their safety. They did not realize that THEIR FAITH WAS ASLEEP- while Christ lay sleeping – his Faith was wide awake. Sometimes are concern for being faithful is really asleep and pre-occupied by outrage and scandal that satan plots every second of his existence.

Maybe you will call me naïve. Personally for me – and I’m not boasting- just excited -my Faith has never been more alive – and growing. Why is this possible? The Church is a mess right? No, its not- Christ always calms the storms. Sure I could be miserable and forgo the abundance of Joy Christ has promised us…. And wring my hands hoping the storm does sink my boat- but NO !! I will not let a wayward Pope- or attacks on the Church- or even a liturgical events that occurred over decades ago from embracing the promise –AND RESPONSIBILITY Christ gave us from the Cross.

The Church Has NEVER moved quickly... although Pope Fancis seems to have found an expeditious vein... but it took 3000 years for Nicaea to establish the dogmatic divinity of Christ- even longer to assert the Papal office... but the Church is always in slow- motion... like that ancient boat- whethering floods and storms.
Arks don't turn and correct their course on a dime.. it takes years... even centuries... as God has all the time in the world...

Dream an astounding dream about how much greater you and I can make Christ’s Church continue to be for the world.
