CP) American evangelist Franklin Graham is again drawing fire from local officials in the United Kingdom as the mayor of Liverpool has called for removing bus ads promoting Graham's upcoming event due to his religious beliefs.
The ads, placed on buses in Liverpool, ask readers if they are "looking for something more" and show an image of the 69-year-old evangelical leader. The ads also feature information about the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association's "God Loves You" Tour event set to take place on May 14 at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre.
Critics of the tour — most notably Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram — have called Graham, the son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, a "known hate preacher" due to his opposition to gay marriage and radical Islam.
"To say that I'm angry that the views of a known hate preacher — who has an appalling track record of homophobic and Islamophobic views — are being displayed anywhere in our city region would be an understatement," Rotherham told BBC.
The promotion seen on buses belonging to the Stagecoach and Arriva lines was undergoing reviews at both bus companies, the BBC reported, adding that Rotheram wrote to both companies requesting the removal of the advertisements.

This is a largely true statement. Western Europe has degenerated into both Hedonism and Self-Hatred. They have embraced Islamists, Satanists, Communists, etc..., and attacked Christianity and Judaism. I have a SIL that has lived in Londonistan for years now. She tells us that the vehement hatred of Traditional Values that we are seeing in the USA in the last few years has been rampant in Great Britain for many many years.
And, as this hatred of Traditional Values has spread the quality of life has deteriorated and the cost of living gets worse and worse. The middle class diminished and the disparity between the wealthy and the poor became greater and greater.
The Left then use this disparity to stoke class envy and anger. The working poor fall for this and have joined with the people responsible for the decay.
Ignorant of the facts and completely unwilling to listen to anyone pointing out the fact that the people they support are actually responsible for their problems.
