The Nurture and Admonition of the Lord.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, when the High Priest came to take Jesus away, Peter took out his sword and cut off the high priest servant. Jesus could have scolded him, “what is it with you, Peter?” “It is in one ear, and off with another!” Instead, Jesus held up the ear and said, “listen up, I could have called down a legion of angels to protect me!” Jesus knew that Peter would deny him, “Not so, Lord”, Peter thought that in his own love he could be faithful.
At the cross, the Roman soldiers, who had crucified others, said, when they saw the forgiveness and felt the earthquake, “truly this was the Son of God!” Love was stronger than hate. After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He fixed the disciples breakfast by the misty sea, with the water gently lapping the shore. Jesus asked Peter if he loved him. Jesus opened his arms and held Peter and stated, “I will give you the Holy Spirit to teach you to love me”. Jesus restored Peter with tender love; Jesus validated Peter's worth as a man. He told Peter that he would be used to help build the church, later, being Full of the Holy Spirits power, thousands of souls were saved upon hearing the God News preached by Peter.
When our kids were in grade school, they started a new school. We had been through some trauma. My son's teacher called me and told me that my son was shaking and scared. I asked her for how long? She said, “a week”. “Wrong answer”, I told her; she should have called me on day one. I took him out of school, a system of learning by the state was not going to break my son. We began homeschooling and I taught the kids by being out in nature by giving them lessons about life and loving them. I figured when they grew up, they would have to work hard, and that childhood should be a time to have fun and be carefree explorers of their world. Soon, the truancy officer called me into his office and demanded I put the kids back in school or else! However, I was packed up and ready to drive down to Fort Benning, Georgia, to join my husband while he was in officer candidate training. I told the man that the kids will be back in school tomorrow. I did not tell that pompous man that it would be in another state.
We departed and I was driving a car and towing a trailer. I pulled into a gas station and needed to back up, I started to jack knife and couldn't figure it out and the owner came out and told me I was hurting his business, “no one can get in, and the ones already in can't get out”. My son got out his match box cars, he showed me how to back up. I drove to Fort Benning, and I found an apartment. I tried to set up an antique bed with a tall headboard and we jumped on it; it collapsed. I called my husband and learned that I needed to go buy a ratchet wrench. At the store, the man asked me what size I needed? I asked him if he was just trying to make my screws come loose?
This Mother's Day, I realize that my hope of having wonderful family relationships depends on having the love of the Holy Spirit. And that in the wisdom gained from hindsight from being young and inexperienced in how bad people will use. With forgiveness and then the open arms of a hug and love, relationships are mended.
I got stung by a wasp I had to take a strong antihistamine to counteract the poison. As in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, we see an evil desire against a country, and hear the threat that if you help them, he will hurt us. Like pharaoh chasing the Israelite's, Moses told the people do not be afraid you will not see them again; Be still and know that God will fight for you.
I live in the garden galore of land I cultivated and the guardian angels that camp on the grounds and in the air keep this farm from harm. We live in the charm of the love and peace of God!
