"And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not."
"And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."
"Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."
Revelation, Chapter 10
1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
2 Thessalonians, Chapter 2
1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
What is “seven thunders”?
FYI
Thank you.
Before that several into English translations rendered apostasia as The Departure.
The Departure makes most sense given the context of what must happen so the man of sin can be revealed, as shown in the following verses regarding the Restrainer who must be taken out of the way so the man of sin is revealed.
And if we look at Rev 5 we see the born again in Heaven wearing their Bema Seat rewards crowns witnessing the opening of the first seal which releases the man of sin to ride upon the scene unopposed.
This supports the notion that The Restrainer is The Holy Spirit, since He is abiding in our spirit forerver and we show up in Heaven for the opening of the scroll having already been before the Bema Seat to receive crowns which we cast at The Lamb's feet.
Note that the book of Revelation uses numbers in a very symbolic way - not only the 666, but also 1000 years, 144,000 and 42 months/1760 days/3.5 years
But to the point of 7 thunders - note the number of times “7” is used in the book of revelation
rev 1:4 - “to the 7 churches”
rev 1:12 “I saw 7 candlesticks”
Rev 1:16 “he held in his right hand 7 stars”
Rev 1:20 “7 stars, candlesticks, angels, churches”
Rev 3:1 “seven spirits of God”.
...
Rev 10:4 - “7 thunders”
7 is a combination of the number of God (3) used in the book and the number for the world (4) used in the book.
So 7 is a number of completeness — note that this is Jewish numerology hence we see the “7 means completeness” elsewhere in the books of the Bible “7 times 7”, “70 weeks” etc. etc.
in 3:1 the “7 spirits” means “the complete spirit of God” - or the Holy Spirit
in 10:4 the “7 thunders” is the complete cacophony or noise which John is to “seal up”
2 Thessalonians mentions the “assembling” of Christians to meet Christ - i.e. the second coming.
NOTE - not a mention of any “secret rapture”
There is no mention of any “left behind”
Thank you so much for the insight.
Amen.
Thanks, Faith.
“9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
“10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
“11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
“12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
There seems to be a lot of that going on right now.
