Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Revelation 13

The Beast out of the Earth

11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17 so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

18 This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man.[e] That number is 666.

Our Father,
Who Art in Heaven,
How Blessed,
How Glorious,
How Wonderful,
Is Your Most Holy Name!
How Mighty and Perfect is Your Word,
And Your Promise,
Which You have allowed us a glimpse
into Your Perfect Will!
You, The Everlasting,
The Omnipotent,
The Immortal and Eternal,
Not Bound By Time or Space,
because You Created it,
Your Ways are not our ways,
And yet we hunger and thirst for You,
like a thirsty little deer panting in the forest,
seeking a bubbling spring for a fresh sip of water!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Nick, an acquaintance of mine, was the drummer for a very famous Metal Band. (So famous they had their own jet airliner for touring). Although he still played with the band, he indulged his passion for BBQ by opening up a Rib Joint in the community where I lived. It became an instant hit with Bikers, as the Ribs and Chicken Wings were the BEST in town. Nick decorated the restaurant with his Gold Records, Band Memorabilia, Stage Props, Expensive Musical Instruments from his collection, and Posters of the Band. He erected a small stage with a PA and a drumset so he could "jam" with customers. The Restaraunt was a huge success. It's been 7 years since I've been in Florida, so I honestly don't know if the restaurant is still there.

One of the things that made the restaurant such a success in a very risky business model, was Nick's sweetness as a person. He chatted with customers, knew them by name, and treated everybody with respect and kindness. When I told him the story of how my Agent Jeff had learned to play drums by listening to Nick (he only had ONE record, and played it over and over till he got it right), Nick was so moved that he gave me a set of autographed drum sticks that he had used on his birthday concert wrapped up in a back-stage pass from the event. Jeff was overwhelmed by the gift. It was the type of gesture that makes me remember Nick with great fondness.

Nick's personality, however, was in sharp contrast to the decor of the restaurant. Since the Band was named after a Medieval Torture device, the Memorabilia on the walls was refective of that. There were a lot of satanic symbols and creepy stage props that would make Boris Karloff blush! It was all "Hollywood", but there were some images that made me uncomfortable. One of the things I found the most troubling was the decorative use of the numbers "666". Hollywood, Heavy Metal, and Modern Culture seems to have embraced The Number of the Beast as a fashion statement! Ugh. (Father, forgive them, they know not what they do!)

The Second Beast in Revelation 13 comes from the Land. This indicates the Land of Israel, The Promised Land, and the Jewish People. It is pretty safe to say that the Second Beast, who is also known as "The False Prophet" will either come from Israel or have Jewish Ancestry. He will point to the First Beast, a Gentile, and urge the worship of him. This is in contrast to the role of Elijah and John the Baptist, who were True Prophets pointing to the True Messiah. The way of identifying those who worship the Beast will be a "Mark", which will restrict buying and selling, travel and living, against those who DON'T have it.

For centuries, this was considered merely symbolic language. The technology did not exist on a world-wide scale, and it was impossible to to force huge populaions into compliance. Originally, people interpreted the Mark as a type of tattoo, but Nano-Technology and Genetic Engineering have both superseded that primitive method of marking people.

Some Christians have been very concerned about the COVID vaccinations being "The Mark of the Beast". They point to Mandates, Vaccine Passports, Lockdowns, and the Meek Compliance of the Public as proof. While I don't think it is the actual "Mark", I will state without reservation that it sure looks like a "Trial Run". Those participating may have the noblest intentions, (ie: stopping the spread of a deadly disease), but don't realize that there are forces at work that are far beyond their understanding. It's like the decor at the Rib Restaurant. The thing that made it even remotely acceptable was that it was a Biker Bar kind of place, and not at all aimed at children. It was a place for Adults. Personally, I would rather that stuff be out in the open rather than hidden beneath the costumes of iconic cartoon characters, but that's just me.
