Bringing the Brokenhearted Home.

Bringing the Brokenhearted Home.

When God wanted to give the law to Moses on Mount Sinai, thunder, lightening, fire and smoke shook the mountain; at the outer edge of Gods' Holiness was an unapproachable barrier of light. God sent His only Begotten Son. Jesus journeyed on earth seeking the brokenhearted, those who were living with a law of stone in their hearts, lost in a condition wherein man was not able to produce a place for a home to be built, because of the sinful foundation that moved by the force of the evil which never rested.

Jesus, at the cross, bore the punishment for man's sin. He had his hands nailed down so we could raise ours up. He said “it is finished”! He paid the price to separate us from our sins and sickness. He stopped his heart, so we could find the way to the heart of God. After rising in newness of life Jesus could have gone back to heaven yet He choose to remain and continue the journey of seeking brokenhearted people who needed to have a hope of a living heart of home. After a time, He ascended to His Father in Heaven, promising to both make a home for us forever and to send the Holy Spirit to comfort and teach us. Hope is our home on the horizon.

In my own story I was an unwanted child; my mother would leave me to fend for myself as a little girl. I was a lamb among lions. I would hide in the shelter of the woods, a little wood nymph living on a feathery bed of ferns, peeking out into my old home to see if it was safe to go back to.

My mother married a man of violent rages who never could celebrate holidays. I wanted to be a missionary nurse and go to college, but my stepfather told me I was not worth spending money on. I was not a child of his.

Later, God, in His love, sent a man to come and rescue me, the man who became my husband and father of our children, he is my true north, like a compass, ever pointing northward, leading me to my home. After serving our country in the military we were able to buy our farm home. When war tried to tear my love away with bullets, I defended my manly warrior, I was his prayer warrior.

Carrying children in my womb next to my heart, my broken heart beat with a love force so strong and I gave them a strong shelter and a cherished childhood. We had dreams for our children to find love and homes of their own. As our children's dreams crashed into divorce and our grandchildren were broken away from our homes, but never our hearts. We learned, that even with broken hearts, Jesus will build a home.

We will celebrate the joy of this season as we watch the girls in their pretty dresses flit about our garden like little butterflies, having fun searching for eggs. We will make a feast of a ham dinner with the trimmings and as we make deviled eggs I 'll crack a joke, “how do you make an egg crack up? Tell it a joke”.

I bought some baby chicks for eggs, and they evoke tender emotions as the flowers in the springtime reappear. Life has found the way to bring our home into a little taste of our heavenly one!

As we approach our 40th wedding anniversary, I like to rest my head on my husband's chest and listen to his heart beat and together we will live here in love until the Lord takes us all home.

Your story, can be repeated a hundred times, and so many hurt, and are on God’s Project list to restore, rebuild, repair, reconstruct and renew, and cause to stand up and be heard. Thanks for sharing...Mrs. Warrior.
