I wonder, as people just don't realize hiw bad the Catholic and Protestant relationship was back then..

Kennedy wasn't President anymore, so Vatican involvement
would have been less obtrusive I would think-
I would never come to know much of my mother's side of the family - as they pretty much disowned my mother after she married a Catholic man back then.
and not the my fathers Catholic family were overjoyed with his choice either. So there was tension on that front for sure... And maybe "Outcry" was a little sensationalized intention as well to sell tickets!...
Though, If you ever do get a chance to visit Rome... 😉
