Even great actors can make BAD movies. Witness “The Lone Ranger” MOVIE.......................
Great to hear of someone standing firm on their beliefs, and doing that when it may cost them everything.
He was also really good as a bad guy in RED 2.
American Horror Story.... As Dwight Eisenhower.
Re: Sophia Coppola. You might want to watch On the Rocks as well. I don’t know enough about her to crawl too far out on the limb, but based on the three films I’ve seen (On the Rocks, Lost in Translation, and The Beguiled, with Colin Farrell, Kirsten Dunst, Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning), it’s clear that she considers sex, marriage and commitment as things not to be treated carelessly. She also seems to be pretty careful about not putting actors into difficult situations. I may or may not agree with how she develops a story, but she seems responsible and thoughtful. Of course, she’s Hollywood royalty, grew up in the business, and probably has learned some lessons, perhaps the hard way. I will at least read some reviews and watch a trailer of anything she puts out. She is trying to make good movies, as opposed to sleazy and exploitative stuff.
Justified is still one of my all-time favorite shows and his character is one of the reasons why.
He was so good at being so bad that I am happily surprised to learn about his faith and about all that had happened prior to his getting that job. Very cool!
**Despite the difficulties McDonough faced, he should be commended for standing strong in his convictions in an industry that typically doesn’t reward such behavior.**
YES!!!
