The lecture drew strong objections from students and faculty due to the speaker’s outspoken advocacy of abortion, LGBTQ lifestyles, and other sexual depravity.
EMMITTSBURG, Maryland (LifeSiteNews) – Mount St. Mary’s University has canceled a lecture scheduled to be given by a self-proclaimed pro-abortion witch after students objected to the event.
The university’s Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Human Services, and the group Alpha Kappa Delta, an honor society of sociology, had scheduled a lecture by Dr. Simone Kolysh on her recently published book, Everyday Violence: The Public Harassment of Women and LGBTQ People. The lecture was originally set for Wednesday, April 6.
Kolysh had been invited by associate professor of sociology Dr. Kim Hansen in his role as faculty advisor for Alpha Kappa Delta. The announced lecture, however, drew strong objections from students and faculty when it surfaced that the speaker was an outspoken advocate of abortion, LGBTQ lifestyles, and BDSM, in contradiction with Catholic teaching on the sanctity of human life, marriage, and sexuality.
According to the independent, student-led journal, The Brownson Record, in response to students’ objections, Hansen asserted that the topic of Kolysh’s lecture “fits very nicely with our undergraduate mission statement in that it will help our students ‘to understand and to challenge or embrace the cultural forces operating on them.’ … The fact that the speaker privately disagrees with the Catholic Church shouldn’t be disqualifying … Not sure where any ‘controversy or confusion’ would come from.”

Almost all colleges and universities have been taken over by leftists. I would only send my kids to a very few colleges in this country.

The Next Task is to find and publicly Shame the University Official who thought putting this moron on stage was a good idea. The Real Threat is from Within.
Good work by the students and faculty that got this witch cancelled. Hopefully, it’s the beginning of a trend: out with the worldly modernists, leftists, and syncretistic fools, and a return by young people to tradition and common sense.
Kids starting to get smarter??
Once you’ve learned Sociology dogma: ‘Don’t teach your grandmother to suck eggs,’ what more is to learn?
“Was that wrong? Should we not have done that?”
When I see these posts labeled Catholic University I think of my younger son’s alma mater (Catholic University in DC), but it’s always another one.
A Christian university should never have allowed a witch to speak there anyway if they truly are a Christian university.
This makes me hopeful for our next generation. They’re not all ignorant liberal losers.
Why in the —HELL— would a catholic school invite a witch to speak?
[[Good work by the students and faculty that got this witch cancelled.]]
Being a ‘religious’ school- they shouldn’t even have had to fight something like this- It’s a very sad state of affairs that the witch was even invited-
That pretty much goes without saying. The real news here is that it was successfully protested against.
I hope this is a trend.
