Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

2 John

1 The elder,

To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I only, but also all who know the truth— 2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:

3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.

4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us. 5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

As We Await Your Messiah,

There has been a lot in the News about The Disney Corporation these days, and it has to do with exposing and grooming children to sexual deviency. I am saddened and appalled by this, because I used to be a huge fan.

I grew up loving Disney. My Dad was a Movie Projectionist and HUGE Movie fan, and the first movie I ever saw on the Big Screen was "Cinderella". My High-School Art History paper was titled "The Art of Walt Disney" and my life's ambition was to either become the first American Female Astronaut, or, failing that, an Animator for Disney. I threw myself into Art, Mechanical Drawing, and Graphic Design to prepare me for this goal. (The Astronaut thing was a pipe dream, but I really could have been a cartoonist!)

Then the movies went downhill, Walt died, and his vision along with him. Subsequently, I learned that women who worked for Disney never got to be artists or animators, but merely did the inking and coloring. Strikes and labor relations problems plagued the company, and Walt allegedly had a bad attitude about the people who worked for him. He seemed to view the organization as some kind of medieval fiefdom. When I found this out, I had already enrolled in Mass. College of Art as a Graphic Design Major. Luckily, I was doing Music on the side, which eventually became my Profession and Passion. The Disney Movies were getting lousy anyway, so I wasn't too broken up about not pursuing that goal.

In the 90's there was a brief re-flowering of the Disney "magic". The animation improved exponentially, and the music was phenomenal. "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Mulan", and "Tarzan", with the music of people like Elton John and Phil Collins, seemed to herald a new era in Disney. But, soon, a quick Internet Search revealed darker messages that were not-so-subtly concealed in even the very best of that era's movies.

I moved to Florida in 1999, and suddenly felt no desire to visit Disney World, not even once. (I did visit Cape Canaveral a number of times, and would visit Orlando at the drop of a hat...only 3.5 hours away by Harley!)

One time, my sister met up with me in Orlando and we went to several attractions: Universal, Sea World, and Holy Land, which was very crowded. My sister asked the Holy Land employee if it was always that crowded. "Not really," he replied, but it's "GAY WEEK" at Disney, and that's when we get all the crowds with kids."

Although much of "Holy Land" was kind of corny, they had a Bible Museum (called "The Scriptorium") which was outstanding. I still have the photo of my sister and me standing in front of its doors.

The second letter of John is addressed to "The Chosen Lady" and her children. John rejoices that her children are being raised in Truth. This is so important that both the New and Old Testaments have many Passages about teaching children, most notably, the 6th Chapter of Deuteronlmy. You can read it HERE.

What a joy it will be when we women get to heaven and hear Jesus say:

"It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth."

To Penny’s mom: God saw to it that a ‘prissy young lady’ from a controversial breed would settle down with a conscientious, down-to-earth and caring owner who would love and pamper her ‘til her final days here on Earth where she will again be in very capable hands until this dear owner will again meet up with all of her loved ones who have gone ahead.
