Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

1 John 3

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

we are Overwhelmed by Your Glory!
It is You Who Have Made The Earth and All it Contains,
from the tiniest of Creatures,
to the Greatest of the Mountains, Forests and Deserts.
It is You Who Command the Motion of the Stars,
The Galaxies,
and the Great Singularities of Time and Space,
And it is You Who Create new Life in the Secret Place of a Mother's Womb!
Oh, Father, You Are So Wonderful,

So Magnificent,
And Mere Words Don't even Tell The Story of Your Awesome Splendor!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,

To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Both my Sister and I have tiny little yards which we garden to the best of our abilty. (Mine is even smaller than hers because my mobile home is wider and takes up more of the lot.) Hers is like a Japanese Garden, while mine is more like an English Herb Garden. Every year I plant some more herbs, and along with the perennials and roses, the garden is starting to look quite lovely. Both of us love the look of Japanese Stone Lanterns, but the cost of a real stone one is quite prohibitive. When I first moved in, I bought a real one at a nursery for $150.00, and five years later, it still looks great.

Businesses caught wind of the popularity of these Lawn Ornaments, and soon, they began to pop up in discount stores at a much lower price. And so, my Sister and I bought a few more, and placed them in our gardens. How adorable! Since Sis has an Asian Theme to her garden, she purchased an cute little statue of a happy little frog sitting in the Lotus Position, and placed him near the birdbath. Both of us had peaceful little gardens that made our yards look less "Trailer-Parky". Last summer, we did a lot of outdoor stuff ecause of the lockdown, and even my Birthday Party was out on the deck in Sis's Japanese Garden.

Well, the new Japanese Lanterns and the little frog were not made of stone, even though they LOOKED as though they were. During the winter, under the snow, the newer lawn ornaments were disolving. It turned out that they were made of loosely-spun fiberglass over a core, with a coating of plaster over it. When the snow cleared, the cheap lanterns were now sodden, unrecognizable lumps. The frog, however, had undergone a different transformation. When the snow melted, it revealed an obscene bit of male anatomy. I will not go into details! We were stunned to see what the frog had become, smashed it to bits, and vowed never to get fiberglass lawn ornaments again!

The Letters of John speak of Counterfeits that were invading the early Church. He instructs the readers of his Letters to be watchful, and not accept every prophet or preacher that drifts into the Church. He uses terms like "test the spirits", and "the spirit of antichrist" to warn us. He gives us standards to go by: Love (he who has not love is not born of God), and Faith (he who denies the Incarnation is not a Christian). If a prophet says something that disagrees with the Word of God, he (or she) is a phony! Don't fall for it. If a prayer is intoned without Love, it's self-righteous, don't join in. And, if a teaching is contrary to God's Revealed Truth, it's fake news. Don't embrace it. Our Faith is based upon The Stone that the Builders Rejected, the Chief Cornerstone, The Rock of Ages. Everything else is just a fiberglass replica that melts in the first storm into something nasty.
