I’m pretty sure a government official can’t fire a government worker over free speech. Sue the hell out of these freaking Marxists.
If the govt can prove speech is a real impediment to effectively carrying out the responsibilities of the department or institution then it can limit speech. I believe about 20 years ago SCOTUS ruled a deputy sheriff in Texas could be fired because she openly and vociferously criticized her boss’ performance.
