Mother General Marilla clarified 'misinformation' and provided a backstory to shed light on statements shared in a recent article.

LONDON (LifeSiteNews) — The Mother Superior of London’s Tyburn convent issued a statement in response to an article saying she was reported to the Vatican after sisters complained they felt “under pressure not to have the vaccine.”

Mother General Marilla, whose revelation that she had received 50 prayer requests for people who died after COVID jabs went viral last year, responded yesterday to the Sunday Times article “Antivax Mother General reported to the Vatican,” to correct misinformation about her and her convent, and provide missing information about her approach to COVID “vaccination” for her sisters.

Marilla explained in her statement, shared with LifeSiteNews, that one of the authors of the Times article, David Collins, had called her prior to its publishing, telling her “that there were sisters from the convent making allegations” that she was “bullying them into not taking the vaccine.” According to Marilla, this was the first time she had heard of these allegations, but Collins was “not able to tell” her which sisters were making them.

Marilla wrote, “Throughout 2021 I have expressed clearly to every sister in our Institute that it is my right and also a moral duty to express my opinion regarding these anti-Covid injections, but they have the complete freedom of choice of whether they wish to take the anti-Covid injections or not. I have communicated this by email, by writing on the community chalkboard and also verbally to a few individual sisters.”

“I, in fact, do not know the vaccine status of any of our sisters because I have not asked them. It is their own business and I do not pry into it,” she continued.

Marilla, who is the worldwide leader of........

“ “It is deeply disturbing that instead of a willingness to investigate or even take seriously these concerns I have received instead reprimands, threats, and vilification,” Marilla wrote in yesterday’s statement.”

Wow, they are going after nuns and are actually lying about her?

They have zero shame.

Unfortunately, common sense doesn’t have a place in today’s world.

Under Canon Law, any Catholic, including religious, cannot have medical treatment forced upon himself. It is outside of the competency of the authority, whether it be a lay priest, a mother superior, a bishop or a pope. It is most unusual that there would be a complaint about maintaining the status quo, NOT getting a medical treatment. The only other situation I know of along those lines is where an abusive mother superior was with-holding asthma medication from a sister. The distinction there is that this was already prescribed medication before entry into the order, and it was an outright refusal as opposed to "discouraging", which anyone can do in accord with right reason as long as the final decision is with the subject.

The pro-shot people are so much more sensitive about this. They need their biases reinforced not only by the mass media, government, hierarchy and popular culture, but by all their associates as well.

And now, the convent is dissolved. Nice work.

Ooops, this convent is not dissolved., I got confused with a small U.S. convent that had an apostolic visitation that got dissolved because the nuns didn’t want shots.

Thanks for the information on the rights of Religious. Should have (A matter of bodily autonomy/integrity) but I didn’t realize that. If I’m not mistaken, it seems some of the clergy and Religious were practically forced to get the clot shot in the US. If they refused, they were maybe removed from a post or publicly shamed or allowed to stay in place but with the Scarlet Letter U -Unvaccinated -Not a member of the clergy or Religious and I’ll be able to go to my eldest niece’s/Goddaughter’s wedding in May but seems like my brother and I are going to have problems going to the reception unless we’re constantly masked- sad, I’m not gonna be publicly shamed like that for knowing the truth about the risky “vaccine”. Wouldn’t surprise me if liberal Bishops are still doing the 80s-90s thing of having the unvaccinated under their domain psychologically evaluated for so-called rigidity.

“However, regarding the anti-Covid injection I would most definitely consider myself vaccine hesitant,” she added.

So Mother Superior didn't jump the gun, after all.
