Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Hebrews 10
A Call to Persevere in Faith
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name over all the Earth!
How Holy and Blessed You Are,
How Overwhelming and Magnificent!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise And Worship,
For You Alone Are The Eternal,
Immortal, Omnipotent, Omniscient,
And Almighty God!
You Are Our Light and Our Salvation!
Of Whom should we be afraid?
Thank You, Abba, For Your Word,
Which Gives Us Courage.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The deep theological New Testament Book of Hebrews is often attributed to Paul, but I respectfully disagree. First of all, the author doesn't use Paul's customary salutation, nor does it have Paul's usual closing. Not only that, but Paul always identified himself at the start of his letters, and sometimes even called attention to his characteristic penmanship ("big round letters", "my own hand", etc). But the biggest clue is that there are no PRAYERS in the Book of Hebrews, Since I am not a Greek Scholar, I can only make my guess based on the English Translations, but it just doesn't look like Paul to me. The Author of this Book, however, agrees completely with Paul on the importance of Faith.
Prayer without Faith, no matter how eloquent, is just poetry. It may be as magnificent as a Shakespeare Sonnet, or as bland as a greeting card, but that is all it is. It may be inspiring and inspirational, but it is not Inspired. "Inspired" means "Breathed in". In a truly "Inspired" Prayer, The Holy Spirit is breathed in, as we often doen't know WHAT to Pray. How can we "Breath in" the Holy Spirit if we don't have Faith? Paul, in his letter to the Romans, explains this phenomenon:
Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Such a dependence upon the Holy Spirit to guide our Prayer Life, even when we don't understand it, is made possible by Faith. Tomorrow, we will look at the entire Chapter dedicated to Faith, to get the Big Picture.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 49
To the leader. Of the Korahites. A Psalm.
1 Hear this, all you peoples;
give ear, all inhabitants of the world,
2 both low and high,
rich and poor together.
3 My mouth shall speak wisdom;
the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
4 I will incline my ear to a proverb;
I will solve my riddle to the music of the harp.
5 Why should I fear in times of trouble,
when the iniquity of my persecutors surrounds me,
6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7 Truly, no ransom avails for one’s life,*
there is no price one can give to God for it.
8 For the ransom of life is costly,
and can never suffice,
9 that one should live on for ever
and never see the grave.*
10 When we look at the wise, they die;
fool and dolt perish together
and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their graves* are their homes for ever,
their dwelling-places to all generations,
though they named lands their own.
12 Mortals cannot abide in their pomp;
they are like the animals that perish.
13 Such is the fate of the foolhardy,
the end of those* who are pleased with their lot.
Selah
14 Like sheep they are appointed for Sheol;
Death shall be their shepherd;
straight to the grave they descend,*
and their form shall waste away;
Sheol shall be their home.*
15 But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol,
for he will receive me.
Selah
16 Do not be afraid when some become rich,
when the wealth of their houses increases.
17 For when they die they will carry nothing away;
their wealth will not go down after them.
18 Though in their lifetime they count themselves happy
—for you are praised when you do well for yourself—
19 they* will go to the company of their ancestors,
who will never again see the light.
20 Mortals cannot abide in their pomp;
they are like the animals that perish.

Adding my AMEN!
Granting the differences you noted, there is another: the addressee. Paul's other letters were to predominantly Gentile churches, but this was to Hebrews, who might view him as a traitor; his identity would distract from his message.

To cheat by arguing from silence: given that God was able to produce such a sophisticated and profound letter through this author, why don't we have others by him?
I don't favor one side or the other: I just enjoy their deliciosity.

Well, of course, both Paul and the Mystery Author of Hebrews were inspired by the Same Holy Spirit, so there’s that aspect.
