Ask any Roman Catholic if they are going to heaven when they die.
They will tell you they hope so, and that any certainty would be prideful and presumptuous.
No, The "Catholic" KNOWS
that THE ONLY possible reason we are able to enter saved into eternal life IS through the Sacrificed Blood of the Resurrection.
Yes, we will not presume as to bind God's judgement on us, as if we can know his mind.
For there will be those who say "Lord, Lord", only to be told He does not know them.
You should really do a deep dive into the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector in the Temple.
Self-assuredness, even in the presence of God is not one of the virtues.

Self-assuredness, even in the presence of God is not one of the virtues. Jesus told the thief on the cross next to him, "This day you will be with me in paradise."
Should the thief have believed that and accepted it at face value, or should he have equivocated and been full of doubt?

Who said anything about SELF-assuredness?
Only you.
Filthy Protestants boast only in Christ and what our Lord has promised.
Like Paul did.
