Your dogmatic interpretation of those words does not make the messengers liars, and most certainly places no limitations on Christ appearing when where and to whom he will. Those quoted words will still be fulfilled as stated by the messengers.

Get people off the inspired Scriptural truth and onto the "it could've happened that way" muddy ground.
And it is worth noting that the foundation of mormonism is the fraudulent Joseph Smith. If you are unaware of how deceitful he was, I'm happy to post court transcripts.
