Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

1 Thessalonians 3

1Timothy’s Encouraging Report

6 But Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you. 7 Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. 9 How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? 10 Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.

11 Now may our God and Father himself and our Lord Jesus clear the way for us to come to you. 12 May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. 13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
How Holy and Sanctified is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone are Worthy To Be Praised and Worshiped,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
You Care for Every one of Your Creatures,
From the Mightiest Ruler of men down to the tiniest of plants.
Every seed that brings forth after its kind,
Every Person that has ever walked the earth,
Every star that explodes into a supernova,
Shrinks to a black hole and forms a galaxy,
And becomes the ocean of stars in the firmament,
Owes its very existence to You, and You Alone!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Paul speaks of a number of aspects of Prayer in this Passage from 1 Thessalonians:

1. Calling to Memory: When we talk to God, one way of praying is calling to memory all the great things He has done. Paul speaks of his fond memory of being with the believers in Thessalonica.Paul knows that none of this would have been possible without God. In Psalms we saw a lot of this "Call to Memory" as the Psalms sang of the parting of the Red Sea, and other Miracles.

2. Encouragement in the Face of Persecution: We are seeing a lot of persecution these days. Whether it is in the Communist Countries, Islamic Nations, or even in he "Free World" (which is no so 'free' anymore), Pastors are being arrested for preaching, and churches vandalized. And yet, we are instructed to "Stand Firm". That is impossible without Prayer.

3. Faith: Paul prays for an increase of faith to strengthen the Thessalonians. He speaks of Prayer as "Joy in the Presence of God." and he prays night and day for the Thessalonians to find their Faith increased.

4. Intercession: Paul prays for the Thessalonians that they will grow, not only in Faith, but in Love for One Another.

5. Prophecy: Just as Memory plays an important part in Prayer, so does Prophecy. Paul speaks freely of The Day of Christ's Return as it is a solid tenet of his Faith. We, too, can Look Up and see our Redemption drawing nigh. Even if Christ's return takes another Millenium, or if it occurs tomorrow, we are to be ready. And that readiness is prepared with PRAYER.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 15

A Psalm of David.

1 O Lord, who may abide in your tent?
Who may dwell on your holy hill?

2 Those who walk blamelessly, and do what is right,
and speak the truth from their heart;
3 who do not slander with their tongue,
and do no evil to their friends,
nor take up a reproach against their neighbours;
4 in whose eyes the wicked are despised,
but who honour those who fear the Lord;
who stand by their oath even to their hurt;
5 who do not lend money at interest,
and do not take a bribe against the innocent.

Those who do these things shall never be moved.
