Could a much-delayed COVID-19 shot finally win over religious vaccine skeptics?
That’s the question swirling around a vaccine made by Novavax, a Maryland biotech firm that submitted its request to the US Food and Drug Administration last month for emergency use authorization of its COVID-19 shot, also known as NVX-CoV2373.
Although more than a year behind competitors such as Moderna and Pfizer/BioNTech, which were both cleared for emergency use in late 2020, Novavax’s two-dose vaccine has already been approved for use in other countries such as the UK, and the company hopes to aid global inoculation efforts.
But Novavax may have another unusual selling point: the potential to woo vaccine skeptics who reject other widely available vaccines because of distant links to abortion they say violate their morals and their faith.
“No human fetal-derived cell lines or tissue, including HEK293 cells, are used in the development, manufacture or production of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine candidate, NVX-CoV2373,” a Novavax spokesperson told Religion News Service via email.
About 64 percent of the US population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of February 18, with 28 percent having received an additional booster shot, according to The New York Times.
Public health experts say the unvaccinated population is harboring vaccine hesitancy or outright anti-vaccine sentiment, some of it driven by faith. According to a December 2021 survey by Public Religion Research Institute and the Interfaith Youth Core, 10 percent of Americans say they believe getting a COVID-19 vaccine conflicts with their religious beliefs.
Among their objections is that in developing or testing their vaccines, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Johnson & Johnson all used cell lines in various ways that trace their origins to aborted fetuses from the 1970s and 1980s. The most commonly used in medical laboratories are known as HEK293 and PER.C6.

Major Scandal: New York Times Reports CDC Withholding Massive Amounts of COVID-19 Data
For the past two years, we’ve heard government officials complain ad nauseum about the spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories regarding COVID-19.
If you really want to combat misinformation, you shouldn’t be hiding the data collected by the government.

Then in that case almost all vaccines fall short. Almost all vaccines require a booster to maintain protection.
On a subscription basis?
You vaxxhole pfascist enablers are scum
So what , still will not work and never will.

There are several in this forum who are actively trying to convince others not to get the vaccines. (See ransomnotes posted articles. She has referred to some of articles as ‘warning threads’.)
cuz1961 wrote: “Well I’m glad you have publicly stated you oppose vac mandates.”
With some exceptions. For example: members of the military can be forced to vaccinate, certain healthcare workers as well. The general population no.
***Then in that case almost all vaccines fall short. Almost all vaccines require a booster to maintain protection.***
Not every few months. The official position now is that vaxx doesn’t protect from getting covid, but it protects from dying as much as not having the vaxx.
Your odds of living go from 99.98 to 99.99? Per individual that’s almost like proving that 99.99999....is 100.
No vaccine in history has ever fallen this short. In fact the current crop of vaccines not only fail to prevent you from getting the disease, they make it more likely that you will get it.
Name a single approved vaccine with a worse record of failure.
With some exceptions
/\
And there it is.
Weasel.

That is total BS.

The vaccines have been highly successful.

Very similar to polio which had a survival rate of approximately 99%. Did you get a polio shot?
You mistake me for an anti-vaxxer. I am a retired member of the military. I have a shot record that fills an entire pamphlet.
So, the issue isn’t vaccinations, it’s THIS vaccination. The leading varieties in use for the last year have all used abortion derivatives in production or testing. They have also not had prescribed long term studies. They also use a new technique with mRNA. All of these have known and unknown consequences for the moral and physical health of a human being.
I have read recently that the Novavax is not the product of abortion derivatives. They have also used a protein based vaccine rather than an mRNA vaccine. They claim that they do not utilize abortion derivatives in their testing.
I checked that final claim with the Lozier institute chart of vaccines, and it’s possible they are correct. It depends on what it means to study the results of that testing. They apparently studied papers written on baby stem cell testing to inform their own testing.
Finally, they obviously have no long-term testing. That is a red flag.
Finally, I had covid very bad. I took ivermection and I got better after a real struggle. My wife got instantly better. So did my dentist. So did a few friends from church.
Others have done well with antibodies, others with hcq, and now it appears that peroxide nasal inhalants are effective.
Some folks respond to one or more of these. I suspect that had they been allowed to try any or all of these that our death rate would be much lower, and that means that the VAXX really has no huge advantage over the low incidence of death in the first place, and it probably would be less effective than the therapeutics + already low incidence of death.
You're not paying attention. There have been a huge number of deaths and injuries from the jabs -- the CDC is covering them up (the NY Times established this, even though they apparently think it's a good thing).
And crucial to the abuse factor is the fact that they are mandatory for millions of working people, including the US military's relatively young and healthy population (with much better immune systems than average).
Not to mention the "huge number of deaths" are conditioned on the fact that early treatment protocols are banned or severely discouraged (everything from HCQ/ivermectin to vitamin C & D therapy, not to mention the extremely flawed CDC protocol for in-patient treatments).
If the "vaccines" are experimental they MUST be voluntary (and they are experimental).
And yes, there is NO SUCH THING as a certifiable safe "vaccine" that hasn't had long-term studies (5-10 years). That is not a new idea, it's a bedrock principle of medicine.
I'll be waiting for the full truth to come out -- and for dupes like yourself to finally wake up. But in your case, after all the info that's available already, even just here on FR, there's no excuse.
We (but not you apparently) are turning the tide on mandates.
And it's not "can be forced" in the military, it's WILL be forced, with extremely few exemptions (none for religious reasons, a handful of medical exemptions, even for those with documented doctor recommendations).
And millions of ordinary workers, including ones I know, are given the Faustian choice of taking the jab or losing the ability to feed their families, hardly what I would call non-mandatory. You really have to be invested in the left-wing narrative to believe the propaganda you're disseminating.
What in heaven's name is someone with your distorted mindset doing here on FR, spouting Democrat talking points?
Really, you are worse than Drudge.

Really, now you’re quoting the NYT after criticizing my sources>

All sorts of vaccines are required by military service even for those with young immune systems.
zipper wrote: “Not to mention the “huge number of deaths” are conditioned on the fact that early treatment protocols are banned or severely discouraged (everything from HCQ/ivermectin to vitamin C & D therapy, not to mention the extremely flawed CDC protocol for in-patient treatments).”
None of which have been established as being effective and safe.
zipper wrote: “If the “vaccines” are experimental they MUST be voluntary (and they are experimental).”
The vaccines are fully approved. No longer can they be called experimental.
zipper wrote: “And yes, there is NO SUCH THING as a certifiable safe “vaccine” that hasn’t had long-term studies (5-10 years). That is not a new idea, it’s a bedrock principle of medicine.”
Over 900,000 deaths in less than two years and you want to hold off the vaccinations for another ten years?
zipper wrote: “I’ll be waiting for the full truth to come out — and for dupes like yourself to finally wake up. But in your case, after all the info that’s available already, even just here on FR, there’s no excuse.”
You will be sorely disappointed. Too bad most of the information on FR is nothing but anti-vaxxer propaganda.
zipper wrote: “Factcheck and Vox. Is it possible to come up with more corrupt, bedrock left-wing sources?
Really, you are worse than Drudge.”
If I’m worse than Drudge then what are you since you referenced the NYT.
BTW, what sources do you think I should reference?
As for me, I’ll just say neigh.
