Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Philippians 1
1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all God’s holy people in Christ Jesus at Philippi, together with the overseers and deacons[a]:
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving and Prayer
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. 8 God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father
Who Art in Heaven,
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed Are You, Oh LORD,
Our God, King of The Universe,
Who Has Brought Us To This Day!
We Come into Your Presence With Singing
and into Your Courts With Praise,
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Host High,
You Alone Are The LORD of Hosts,
And You Alone Hold The Power of Life and Death in Your Hand.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Paul wrote this letter to the church in Philippi from Jail, probably in the rented house in Rome where he was confined around 50AD. The prison wasn't as severe as some of the other dungeons Paul had experienced, but it was still jail, no matter how one looked at it. This Letter to the Philippians contains some amazing insights into prayer.
Philippi was a very Roman City, and those born there were automatically Roman Citizens. Most people wore Roman Fashions and spoke Latin. Although the city had been named after Alexander the Great's father Philip of Macedon, the atmosphere had a decidedly Roman flavor rather than Greek, and they were proud of it. There were not even enough Jewish People in the city to found a synagogue, so Paul had no Old Testament Prophecies, Prayers, or Psalms to cite as a foundation for Evangelism. In fact, the letter to the Philippians is rare in that there are no Old Testament citations at all. Unlike the Bereans, who ran home to check the Scriptures to verify Paul's Teachings, the Philippians were hearing these concepts for the first time. And yet, the little group of Believers blossomed, and, even during times of persecution, donated to those less fortunate.
Paul's Letter is essentially a Thank-You Card for the Philippians' generosity. He opens with his usual salutation, stating the writer, the recipient, and the greeting. Then Paul launches into a Prayer of Thanksgiving. The prayer contains one of my favorite verses:
...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion...
I love that! This whole letter is full of hope and encouragement, and I recommend reading the whole letter, not just the phrases about prayer.
Prepare to be BLESSED!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM! And for the Preservation of the Valiant Israeli Nation!

"The Apostle Paul" (Detail) Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn ~ 1657 |
|
| _ | AUL and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

Psalm 129
A Song of Ascents.
1 ‘Often have they attacked me from my youth’
—let Israel now say—
2 ‘often have they attacked me from my youth,
yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 Those who plough ploughed on my back;
they made their furrows long.’
4 The Lord is righteous;
he has cut the cords of the wicked.
5 May all who hate Zion
be put to shame and turned back.
6 Let them be like the grass on the housetops
that withers before it grows up,
7 with which reapers do not fill their hands
or binders of sheaves their arms,
8 while those who pass by do not say,
‘The blessing of the Lord be upon you!
We bless you in the name of the Lord!’
