Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Romans 5

Peace and Hope

5 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Heavenly Father,
How Wonderful,
How Majestic,
How Glorious is Your Most Holy Name!
We Come Before You.
Not on our own merits,
But because of Your Righteousness,
Faithfulness,
and Love,
According to Your Holy Word!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Three Little Stories:

1. The Lost iPod. My sister recently got a new (used) car given to her (Hallelujah) and so it was time to junk the heap that had been sitting in her driveway for months. As she was cleaning out the old car, she found her obsolete iPod in the glove compartment. Although the iPod contained 1500 of her favorite songs, she no longer has "access" to them because she doesn't have a computer. Oh well, she's getting "back into Vinyl" now, so the iPod is useless. Her new car doesn't have a jack for the device, so it is destined for the trash.

2. Computer Woes. As many of you know, I am a Songwriter, and have written hundreds of songs. At one time I stored the Audio of my music in a Mac Mini, and the actual Sheet Music in a PC specially equipped for that purpose. I also had all the Graphics for Cover-Art, CD Jewel Cases, and CD Labeling stored in the PC. I suppose there is some way of recovering the data from the PC, but it would be at great expense because the software is so old and there is no back-up. I don't have the time, the money, or even the desire to dig up that old stuff, but I can't bear to throw the CPU out. And so there it is, on the floor next to me, taking up at least TWO of my precious 754 Square Feet of Living Space. And, Oh. I forgot to tell you. iTunes no longer supports my old Mac Mini, so I am unable to access my own original music in Audio form either. Except on my iPod, which is plugged into my car, and will not work if removed, just like my sister's.

3. Scattered Pictures of the Smiles We Left Behind. Another Sister, an accomplished Photographer, stored all of her photos on Facebook. After years of putting up with FB's Woke Nonsense, Sis decided it was time to part ways with them. The only thing that was keeping her tethered to the site were her photos. She attempted the arduous process of retrieving her art, but it was too daunting a task, and so, she left it all behind.

All three of us learned a hard lesson about Access. The powerful entities that design computers, websites, the Cloud, cell-phones, Music services, Social Media, and entertainment can control access to artists even if it is their OWN work. The artist loses not only control over their own creation, but access as well. The whole original point of Intellectual Property Organizations was to protect the Artist, not the Publisher. But it has evolved into an entirely new picture over the last few years.

Now perhaps you have found my rant entertaining, but what does it have to do with Today's Reading, or the subject of Prayer? Let's look at the passage again:

For thousands of years, humans have tried to access the Creator of the Universe. Nature is so beautiful, and the Universe so awesome, that it is obvious that there is "Someone" out there Who created it all. It is what the Bible calls "Eternity in Our Hearts". A human culture that does NOT have some kind of "religion" is so rare that I can't name one. Even fossils of Early Humans show tattoos, amulets, even grave flowers, that point to a belief system. Oh how we want Access! But the One Who created everything is so BIG and so far above us, how can we get access to Him?

Paul addresses this in his letter to the Romans. He even uses the word "Access". It is by Faith in the Finished Work of Jesus Christ, Who, while we were still sinners, died for us and rose from the Dead. And that is why The Gospel is GOOD NEWS. It is the news we have been waiting for since Ice-Man scratched sacred symbols on his skin or buried his wife with flowers. The Flowers, Charms, and tattoos were worthless, but exhibited the Longing that is in all of us. And that Longing is for Reconciliation. And for that, we need Access.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 75

To the leader: Do Not Destroy. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.

1 We give thanks to you, O God;
we give thanks; your name is near.
People tell of your wondrous deeds.

2 At the set time that I appoint
I will judge with equity.
3 When the earth totters, with all its inhabitants,
it is I who keep its pillars steady.
Selah
4 I say to the boastful, ‘Do not boast’,
and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horn;
5 do not lift up your horn on high,
or speak with insolent neck.’

6 For not from the east or from the west
and not from the wilderness comes lifting up;
7 but it is God who executes judgement,
putting down one and lifting up another.
8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup
with foaming wine, well mixed;
he will pour a draught from it,
and all the wicked of the earth
shall drain it down to the dregs.
9 But I will rejoice* for ever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked I will cut off,
but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

_HEREFORE being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in
hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
