This was only for the people who weren’t raptured in October, 2017, with the Jupiter in Virgo sign or whatever it was. (Christians fooling around with astrology, as distinct from Christians fooling around with Mayan calendars.)

Well, here's a picture of DD on vacation

lolol

My brother is involved in apocalypse christianity as I like to call it. He even moved to an undisclosed location, in the Pacific northwest, which he has since disclosed to us. When questioned as to all the predictions he was sharing from his pastor who has since died, he will tell you... that because the calendar was changed so often, it’s difficult to challenge the dates predicted 😂

Wilhelm put it well I won’t speak for Cronos, but I think this was posted as an example of the wrong way to approach the Bible and the topic of Christ’s return. That the whole mentality and spirit behind such predictions is wrong, and not that his prediction was wrong so he should go back to working on an improved formula to predict the future.

We need to focus on living each day like it is our last - and so living in Christ. There are Christians today facing persecution - in Pakistan, in Iraq, in Libya, in Egypt etc. we must pray and help them and not focus on the day and time that only the Father knows.

That is actually sad. He’s not focused on God but on a pastor

That seems to be a thing for many, charismatic pastors.
I cant really comment, while not an atheist, I’m not religious at all.

I also used to question him on the ballot answers they would pre print out for the congregation. He could never answer as to why he needed a cheat sheet.... I’d explain, you shouldnt’ vote for anything you don’t agree with or at the very least understand.

He probably has climate change mixed with the rapture so the end of the world date keeps changing.

Globular Warmenation. Totally different apocalyptic cult.

Baloney!

The Septuagint contains the Greek word for Rapture in the New Testament.

The Latin translation is Rapturo...more than 1,200 years before your chronology.

Check Dr. Michael S. Heiser, who routinely shows several different languages when reviewing particular passages in the Bible. He has numerous presentations available on YouTube.

His life’s purpose changed when a fellow Doctoral candidate handed him a copy of a Hebrew language Bible open to Psalm 82, where Verse 1 speaks of (Singular) Elohim (YHWH) standing in the midst of the (plural) elohim and reading them the riot act.

He explains that the only way to fully understand the writings of the Apostles is to put yourself in the mindset of a 2nd Temple well-educated Jew, including their knowledge of the Apocrypha, like 1 Enoch, mentioned in Jude and 2 Peter.

I was not contending about the semantics of the word "Rapture" nor affirming the whole eschatology, but posting it as showing the hand that Catholics had it in. My own position is briefly set forth in the next post (24), mainly against the denial of the 1,000 reign of Christ.

How many people are taught to anxiously look at the news and read some event into what they think the Bible should predict? How many “Christian” books are published about this or that “Bible Code”? How many “Prophetic Ministries” rake in the profits?

So, is your advice we should just ignore Jesus' warnings that we should watch and pray?

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Mark 13:32-37)

But watch yourselves, or your hearts will be weighed down by dissipation, drunkenness, and the worries of life—and that day will spring upon you suddenly like a snare. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of all the earth. So keep watch at all times, and pray that you may have the strength to escape all that is about to happen and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:34-36)

Is there such a thing as a 'seer'? Are there 'fortune tellers'? Do people use their services? Ever heard of 'Nostradamus'?

News flash: MANY people want to know the future, INCLUDING many self-described Christians. I would suggest that a large number of followers of 'prophetic' preachers are not Believers, or are not deep in their faith.

As boatbums states, we ARE to keep an eye on the times, awaiting His return. Are there many, too many, who are focused on His return, rather than focusing on Him and spreading His Word to a world that DESPERATELY needs Him? YES! I recall an acquaintance from years ago, who never read his Bible, and spent all his money driving all over Western North America, going to 'prophecy conferences'.

We ARE in the 'End Times'. We have been in the 'End Times' since His resurrection. More and more Biblical prophecies ARE being fulfilled. Are 'vaxx passports' the 'sign of the beast', required to dltransact sales and purchases, per the Bible? No. I see them more as a 'softening up of the populace, to get them 'comfortable' with having to show a document to do anything.

Not the 'end times', IMO, but perhaps a 'test' of how compliant the sheeple are.

God warned His people to NOT seek out such people:

You must not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out, or you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:31)

Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. (Leviticus 20:6)

Almighty God has had His special Prophets through whom He reveals truths, foretells of future events and the consequences of disobedience. This was one of many ways God "proved" His existence as the One, True God and His omniscience to the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In fact, He warned them that if anyone did claim to be His prophet and foretold events that did not come to pass or who tried to lead them away from the true God to worship false gods, they should not be heard and should even be executed. It was a serious matter. See:

“You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?’ If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed” (Deuteronomy 18:21-22).

“But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death” (Deuteronomy 18:20).

“If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, ‘Let us follow other gods’ (gods you have not known) ‘and let us worship them,’ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him” (Deuteronomy 13:1-4).

“Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,’ declares the Lord” (Jeremiah 29:8-9)

“Then the Lord said to me, ‘The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds’” (Jeremiah 14:14).

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves” (Matthew 7:15).

“But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed” (2 Peter 2:1-3).

The best way to protect ourselves against false prophets today is to know the word of God.

I agree with you 100% that we should be about our Father's business - and that means speaking the truth in love, leading others to saving faith in Jesus Christ, encouraging one another, being an example of holy living and in everything we do, we do to the glory of God. Even the first Christians were mindful of Christ's imminent return. How much closer are we to that now? Jesus spoke about the end-times and He must have had a reason for doing so. We are told:

And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds. Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24,25)

Not to worry. I don’t, and never have, consulted a ‘seer’ or anyone like that. Years ago, I did read parts of what Michel de Nostredame wrote, when someone mentioned his writings. It made no sense and could be interpreted in a myriad of ways. Many people DO want to know their future, so consult anything and anyone that may give them a hint. It’s not a new thing, even among God’s people. Remember King Saul consulting a medium to contact Samuel (1 Samuel 28)?

I don’t care to know the future. I have faith that Jesus will lead me. When I stray (sin), as all of us do, Holy Spirit corrects us. Do I see things in current events that seem tied to unfulfilled prophecies in the Bible? Yes. Is that the focus of my belief? Absolutely NOT!

Life is not fair and painful, and will remain so until He returns! We must keep looking up to Him. As the time of His return nears, life, especially for Believers, will get MUCH worse! He is in charge, however.

Maranatha

Do not change titles of articles.

I removed the word Rapture that you inserted in the title.
