Great article. One can say they believe in God, but don't believe Him. That is, believe what He has said, and live accordingly.

To believe in the Lord but not obey Him is, when we cut to the chase, actually the MO of a certain bunch of fallen angels.

Maybe that why it’s people who refuse to retain the knowledge of the Lord who get in trouble as per Romans 1?

And yet time and again we see how long suffering the Lord is, patiently, reaching out to call people to repentance, even making it possible for proverbial camels to pass through the eyes of proverbial needles … so how terrible is it that any ever get turned over to a depraved mind!

Francis Schaeffer wrote about this “aspirational” or make-believe form of Christianity many years ago, and predicted it could never stand up against those with real beliefs, even if it was a belief in nothing. A powerful belief in nihilism can overcome a weak belief, or a pretend belief, in God.
