Whenever I prepare to write something for the newsletter, I try to go through recent news about things happening in the Church to glean some inspiration or I look for a saint-related story that applies to the current crisis in the Church. This week, as I was perusing the news, I started reading about Pope Francis’ address to the World Meeting of Popular Movements (WMPM) … an initiative he started in 2017.
Several news sources grabbed the low-hanging fruit of Pope Francis’ call for “big tech” to enact further censorship protocols. In his address, Pope Francis said:
“In the name of God, I ask the technology giants to stop exploiting human weakness, people’s vulnerability, for the sake of profits without caring about the spread of hate speech, grooming, fake news, conspiracy theories, and political manipulation.”
While this is a disturbing call for many reasons, it’s not the worst thing about the event. I remembered giving some comments on the first WMPM event to Church Militant when they covered it, pointing out that three of the organizations helping to organize it (PICO, Gamaliel, and the CCHD) all had ties to Marxism, and decided to give the main organizers another look. I hadn’t looked too closely at the WMPM in 2017 because I was deep in an investigation into Catholic Relief Services and didn’t have time. But looking back, I see that the “regional organizers” of the WMPM in the United States is a virtual who’s who of Marxist entities receiving funding and support from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
The WMPM website identifies several organizations that participated in the 2017 WMPM:
Two weeks ago, we published a bombshell of a report on the Vatican’s ties to the Communist organization called the World Social Forum. What is interesting is how the recent World Meeting of Popular Movements ties in with the World Social Forum. You’ll notice at the top of the list is the organization called “Landless Workers Movement (MST).” Well, MST is one of the first leading organizations of the World Social Forum in 2001.
Just to give you an idea of how rotten MST is, and why it should have NOTHING to do with anything related to the Catholic Church, this celebration of Karl Marx’s 203rd birthday was published on the MST website, saying:
“For Marx, human societies only progress through conflicts between the bourgeois class, which controls the means of production, and the proletariat, which supplies the labor force. In the author's view, the history of humanity is permeated by class struggle. That is why the revolution is so urgent and must be carried out by the working classes.”
I’ve been researching and warning of the Marxist influence in the Catholic Church for over a decade, and many people of good will just wave it off as a fringe movement “on the peripheries” of the Church. Well, now we have proof that it is center stage at the Vatican, and its influence goes all the way to the top.
We’ve already begin putting together a major report on this situation, and I ask for your prayers as we put it all together. I’ll send you a notification when this new report is complete.
