Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

2 Chronicles 1:8-12

8 Solomon answered God, “You have shown great kindness to David my father and have made me king in his place. 9 Now, Lord God, let your promise to my father David be confirmed, for you have made me king over a people who are as numerous as the dust of the earth. 10 Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

11 God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be Your Most Holy Name!
How We Long For Your Kingdom,
How We Wait For Your Will to be Done,
Here on earth, as it already is, in Heaven!
You Are Our Peace,
Our Wholeness,
Our Shalom,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Last Night, I wasawakened by a ping on my cell phone. There was a text with a YT link, which I could not access on my Stone-Age-Flip-Phone, so I went to the desktop and entered the address. It was William Shatner, climbing out of the Blue Origin Spaceship, after his sub-orbital flight. The 90-year-old actor was so overwhelmed, he could barely get the words out. The beauty and magnificence of the Planet, with it's paper-thin atmosphere, bursting into the black void of Space, took his breath away. Although I had a hard time hearing his statements (because he was so awestruck he could barely speak) this was one thing that he said that struck me:

"Behind me, was the thin blue line, LIFE. Ahead of me was Blackness...Death". Oh My God! The line is so thin, like tissue paper."

There were big hugs all around and Champagne corks popping, but "Captain Kirk" was just so awestruck that all he could do was marvel. I hope I don't have to wait till I'm 90 to be able to marvel at The Creator in that way.

Just this morning, I read this Passage in 1 Peter 5:

5 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,

“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”[a]

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Now, this Passage does include a prayer, so we will revisit it when we get into the New Testament. However, I believe it is also relevant to Today's Passage. While Peter connects Wisdom to Old Age and Experience, Solomon prays for it while he is still very young. This shows that Wisdom is actually a gift from God. While a lifetime of experience can teach us valuable lessons (which add to our decision-making abilities and coping skills), True Wisdom is something deeper. In most branches of Christianity, Wisdom is considered a direct Gift of The Holy Spirit. This may be a generalized form of Wisdom, or a specific "Word of Wisdom" for a particular situation. I don't think I would be mistaken if I said that every Believer would just LOVE to have this gift!

So here is Solomon, young, inexperienced, recently bereft of his father, and coming out of a power struggle within his own family that could have erupted into Civil War.

How does he deal with that?

He prays for Wisdom.

God indicates that He is pleased with Solomon's Prayer, and adds all the other things (wealth, power, health, etc) that were not in Solomon's Prayer.

William Shatner has spent most of his life as an actor, playing the role of The Captain of a Starship. Yet, in his 90th year, he actually was given the opportunity to REALLY go up into Space and look back at our Beautiful Blue Planet.

May our experiences with God be the REAL THING, not just acting on a set in a TV Studio.

There is a HUGE difference, and it is overwhelming.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 101

Of David. A Psalm.

1 I will sing of loyalty and of justice;
to you, O Lord, I will sing.
2 I will study the way that is blameless.
When shall I attain it?

I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
3 I will not set before my eyes
anything that is base.

I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
4 Perverseness of heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.

5 One who secretly slanders a neighbour
I will destroy.
A haughty look and an arrogant heart
I will not tolerate.

6 I will look with favour on the faithful in the land,
so that they may live with me;
whoever walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.

7 No one who practises deceit
shall remain in my house;
no one who utters lies
shall continue in my presence.

8 Morning by morning I will destroy
all the wicked in the land,
cutting off all evildoers
from the city of the Lord.
