Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Ecclesiastes 1
Everything Is Meaningless
1 The words of the Teacher,[a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:
2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.”
3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.
5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
6 The wind blows to the south
and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.
7 All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.
8 All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9 What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
10 Is there anything of which one can say,
“Look! This is something new”?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
11 No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come
will not be remembered
by those who follow them.
Wisdom Is Meaningless
12 I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. 13 I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! 14 I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
15 What is crooked cannot be straightened;
what is lacking cannot be counted.
16 I said to myself, “Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” 17 Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.
18 For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty God and Everlasting Father,
How Glorious and Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
Almighty and Eternal,
Wonderful! Counselor!
Glorious and Transcendent,
Rock of Ages,
Ancient of Days,
King of Kings,
and Lord of Lords!
Thank You, LORD,
For For being Our Wonderful Counselor,
The Only One Who Listens, when everyone else turns away.
Indeed, Our Everlasting Father,
Who has us engraved upon the palms of Your Hands.
The "father of lies" accuses Your people day and night.
We pray for an end to the slander!
You, Father, are our Provision,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
and Our Future.
We are nothing without You.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.
God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Sis was looking for a walk-in shower for her disabled husband. We wandered around the huge plumbing fixture store, peering down the aisles, but all we saw were rows and rows of bathroom sink cabinets. And so, ever the Wise-Guy, I proclaimed:
"Vanities! Vanities! All are Vanities!
This, of course, is from the King James Version of Today's Reading, Ecclesiastes 1.
You already know that I live in a Trailer Park, ride a motorcycle, Play Contemporary Christian Music on the bass, and have a pit-bull. Any one of those factors is enough for somebody to scorn me, as evidenced by many a posting on this very site. Nevertheless, I know that I am LOVED by The Creator of the Universe, so all the insults heaped upon me (even from people who have the same politics as I do!), are meaningless.
On the other hand, I once lived in a 2000 sq.ft. lakefront home in Florida, Owned and Operated my own Recording Studio, traveled to Hawaii every other year, met several "Rock Stars", and was often recognized and asked for my autograph. That, too, is meaningless, and is all gone now, vanished without a trace.
In this series about Prayer, you may wonder why I would include the Book of Ecclesiastes. Surely, I could find something more upliftng than this depressing book!
But, as The Letter To The Hebrews tells us, The Word of God is "Sharper than a Two-Edged Sword". All of it is inspired by God, and has something to teach us.
Solomon, when asked by God what he desired most, answered "Wisdom". Indeed, Solomon was the wisest man that ever lived, but he was also human, and made some really stupid mistakes (especially concerning women), and soon realized that wealth, fame, fortune, and indulgence were not important. They were, in fact, like the KANSAS song, "Dust in The Wind."
But tell me, who hasn't felt like this on occaision? And to whom can you go, when everything is meaningless? Solomon will give you the answer towards the end of this deep and dark Book, so stay with me!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 91
1 You who live in the shelter of the Most High,
who abide in the shadow of the Almighty,*
2 will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.’
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
6 or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,*
the Most High your dwelling-place,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
so that you will not dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.
14 Those who love me, I will deliver;
I will protect those who know my name.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honour them.
16 With long life I will satisfy them,
and show them my salvation.

I so appreciate your posts, and joining together in both difficult and the uplifting scriptures to ponder, meditate and prayer upon. In all these, we join in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, for our families and friends, for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world, and for our sinful and erring Nation.
