You Who Choose Permanent Death. Why Do You Do That?

By JAG

September 30, 2021

Death takes away all your enjoyments, for example eating good tasting food.

You're now alive and you enjoy good tasting food. Why you wanna give that up? You ever ate a meal and said, "Wow, that was very good. I really enjoyed that. That was truly good tasting food." You don't want to forever say goodbye to that. You want to keep on saying that, after meals, forever and ever.

But in order to forever keep on saying that after meals you must have the gift of Eternal Life. The Lord Jesus made a way for you to forever keep on enjoying eating good tasting foods ~ John 3:16's "eternal life." (Yes we will eat foods in Heaven ~ keep on reading.)

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall never cease eating good tasting food but will continue to enjoy good tasting food forever and ever. After your present physical body dies, you can still live on and on, to enjoy your favorite foods galore.

Jesus ate food in His resurrection body and so can you.

"When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate it in their presence." Luke 24:4041

"He [Jesus] was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen — by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead." Acts 10:40-41

"When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead." John 21:9-15

Thoughts?

I always wondered how the fish tasted. We know he made the best-tasting wine at Cana.

The Vegans say that Jesus was a vegan too, so it must have tasted like tofu.

Didn’t the Apostle Peter have some issues with restrictive diets, for a time?

Very rarely I hear about someone claim that Our Lord and/or the Apostles was vegan. Do they know what happens at a Passover?! Do you think they only serve matzo and figs at wedding feasts? Do vegans celebrate good news by killing fatted calves? Do they know what half of the apostles did for a living?! And how about all those fish that were mercilessly murdered just to show that Our Lord could provide so much that the nets would break? I will accept the possibility that most of the fish served when Our Lord fed 5,000 with seven fishes were in fact “impossible fish”.

He was completely on-board for lamb at least once a year. No lassi on the side, though.

There is an an actual Vegan theologian who says the only thing provided was bread, that the fish were just symbolic.

They got to slice that baloney somehow.

Thanks for the amusing text that relies mostly on phony gnostic “gospels” and other apocryphal writings. I love the part where they claim that John the Baptist didn’t really eat those poor locusts, but actually ate carob (locust BEANS) instead. He never explains the wild honey that he stole from those poor hard working insects.

He obviously never heard of the parable of the bratwurst and the brewskis.

In the great tradition of Origin and Clement, the Vegans need to spiritualize those fish away.

Kind of like taking the Indian girl off of the Land O Lakes butter packaging, they want to keep what they want and make the rest disappear.

I find your points very interesting. All that you say seems to me to be correct interpretation of Scripture. But then I start to think of questions. Eating serves a specific purpose—to sustain and power the body. Will we NEED to eat to sustain our glorified bodies and to have energy, or will eating be optional—just for enjoyment? Either way, how will our bodies process the food consumed? will the intestines absorb nourishment? If they do, we will still need bacteria in our bodies to break down sugars and absorb fatty acids. So will several pounds of living (and dying) bacteria inhabit the intestines of our glorified bodies? And will we still need to excrete waste? I can imagine an unnecessary process just stopping with the food disappearing from the stomach, but that sounds rather self-indulgent. Am I the only one who wonders about this stuff?

I know, I wonder too. I assume everything will work the way it was originally intended but not sure if I can even imagine what that is?? I assume that Jesus, as God, did not require food but consumed it in order to unite Himself with our humanity. However, we are not God, so what will it be like for us? There's supposed to be a feast in heaven, right?

We read of a Feast, of the ‘Marriage of the Lamb’, of Christ and His Bride the Church, which is His Body. And that we ‘shall be as the angels are’.

And also that ‘Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, the heart of man has not conceived that which God has prepared for those who love him’

Clearly we are intended (by the infinite mercy of God) for a glorious, eternal suprise: the nature of which has only been hinted at.

Clearly we are intended ...

Re-reading this line, this might come across as snarky. Sorry about that, not my intent.

You Can Enjoy Eating Good Tasting Foods Forever and
Ever. Thank you, Lord Jesus.

“Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal
life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world
through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands
condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”
John 3:14-18

Thanks.
And thank you for your comments.
You raise excellent questions.

Is the marriage supper of the Lamb a metaphor?
Or is it a real supper and will we eat real food at that time?
I don’t know for certain.
Maybe eating is optional in the New Earth and in Heaven.
Maybe we can eat food and our bodies not go through the digestion process and the elimination process.
The Bible has some significant imagery about eating food in the New Earth and in Heaven. I could go and dig it up. I remember reading it, but I don’t know where its located right at the moment.

Say, did you ever read Randy Alcorn’s book on Heaven?
He has a section in it on Eating Food In Heaven.
Its a fascinating read.
I have it on my Kindle.
But I wanted a hard copy, so I ordered one from amazon just a few days ago.

https://www.amazon.com/Heaven-Alcorn-Randy-ebook/dp/B000FCKCJC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=randy+alcorn&qid=1633029071&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExT083STRUV1NMN1FSJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTYyOTE5MlZaSE1BOURMR0c4TiZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTk4MjA3Q1NZTDZPTENCQ0VJJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

__________

I think we can know this:
All the joys we now get from sitting around the table
eating with our family and friends, will have counterparts
in the New Earth and in Heaven ~ so that we will not
ever “miss out” on any good fellowship and family-happiness.

Of course, I think we will eat and drink in the New Earth
and in Heaven. See what you think about Luke 22:29-30 and Matthew 8:11 , , ,

And then holding in mind the fact that Jesus did eat in His resurrection body, read Philippians 3:21

Best Regards,

JAg
