Good message. It’s time to dust off our Foxe’s Book of Martyrs to train for a worst case scenario. A solid foundation of the scriptures strengthens our determination. Many examples recorded and miraculously preserved in the Bible make it clear that complete trust in Christ has always been the believers’ only solution. Right after Jesus’ said “Remember Lot’s wife”, He added, “Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.”. The more we love this world and all its trappings, the harder it will be to lose our lives and live up to our commitment to Christ. The time is now to seriously practice losing our current lives on every level by tackling very person, delight, treasure, that will try to make us look back.

The Bible is proving to be today’s only reliable news source and it’s popping out at us. Think about this one, from the apostle Paul:

1 Corinthians 4:13 (KJV): “Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.”

Or, as Young’s Literal version puts it:

“When we are slandered, we answer kindly. We have become the scum of the earth, the garbage of the world — right up to this moment.”

Right up to this moment, unto this day, this is still the way it is. Understanding our true standing in the world as garbage, we know that we are also the foolish things who confound the wise (1 Corinthians 1:27).
