Other treatment: Endovascular surgery, insertion of a stent;
In this procedure, the weakened portion of the aorta remains in place. Your doctor inserts a tiny, flexible catheter into an artery in your leg and guides the tube up to your aorta. The catheter then deploys a graft that surrounds the vulnerable part of the aorta to strengthen it.
The 3rd anniversary of my aorta stent placement is coming up soon.
I had the stent placement procedure done at noon, and I was out of the cardiac lab in the recovery room enjoying a turkey sandwich with my wife in about 30 minutes.
I was discharged about 2 hours later, and my wife drove me home.
The only time, that I have a problem, is when I had to wear a mask, which is basically never now. Any mask cuts down on my Oxygen intake.
Is this a thoracic aorta issue? I have some kind of ascending mid aorta issue that showed up on a CT scan. bigger than it should be but still below size where you do surgery.
